Our solicitor helped support my partner and I through the process of replacing our Wills, POA and reviewed civil partnership vs marriage options with respect to estate planning and impact of inheritance tax etc. Great service and support by Ali and the team of advisors that he brought in for specific questions or advice. The review request does not show potential areas for improvement, so have listed one just here. We have now had multiple services provided by Slaterheelis for property sales/purchase as well as estate planning. In general, each time we have to fill out a new client form - perhaps there is a way to stream line this so as to not be so repetitive, but still allow for each activity to be clearly listed, fees and service acknowledged.

Acting on my behalf on my late mother's tax return, the whole process took more than a year thanks to HMRC delays and lack of communication, which led to a penalty charge being applied despite the eventual tax demand being sent well after the payment would have been due, but my solicitor persevered doggedly, making many, many phone calls and sending letter after letter. She sent me emails detailing the progress (or lack of it), and successfully appealed the penalty charge.

I was in need of a number of letters verifying that monies from my Mother's estate was a legitimate payment to some of her grandchildren and sons, all of whom live abroad. This was incase they were challenged by their revenue service. Sophie Booker, was polite, helpful and supplied and explained useful advice to this end. Over a matter of a few months, as needed, she supplied draft letters for approval, all of which were well worded and to the point. On approval, she supplied the final version copies both in hard copy and electronically. Sophie supplied a professional and pain-free service.
