Myself and my partner recently both sold our properties and purchased our first one together, Emily Allen handled each transaction and guided us both through each of our individual processes and then through our joint purchase. Emily was thorough, engaging and extremely communicative throughout the entire process. I can not thank this company enough for the work carried out to help with a passport problem. My passport was stolen and it took months to sort out. Emily saddler helped with this and I now have a passport. Professional and understanding. I will always be greatful

My experience with HCR Law was mixed. There were some positive aspects and the transaction ultimately completed, but communication and follow-through were significant sources of frustration. Reviewing my correspondence, I identified at least five emails for which I could find no substantive written response, covering at least eight separate questions or actionable requests that were not clearly answered or completed in writing. On one particularly time-sensitive occasion, I had emailed the previous day and telephoned twice without a response, despite needing to exchange that week. I was also repeatedly asked to clarify or resupply financial information that HCR already held. On several occasions I explained that the relevant account statements and source-of-funds information had already been provided, but I was nevertheless required to go through the information again. Account administration after completion was particularly frustrating. HCR chased for money paid in June, the month after, when I provided the payment date and supporting statement again in July, and by September had to ask HCR to stop contacting me regarding monies already paid. We will see if they respect this now. I was also disappointed by the handling of specific instructions that mattered financially. These included my request to establish whether I could buy the blinds at the property and my instruction to seek a £10,000 reduction in the purchase price, following information found in the surveys. I believed this had been taken through to the sellers but it had not, which I only realised too late in the day ti challenge. From my perspective, these matters were not followed through adequately and this left me financially worse off. There were occasions when useful advice was provided, particularly around legal enquiries and the risks of proceeding without sufficient information. However, I felt that I had to monitor, chase and manage too much of the process myself. Better record-keeping, clearer responses and stronger ownership of client instructions would have made a considerable difference, as well as handover when holidays we taken. The process was a lot more painful than it needed to be, especially at the end. Verbatum: At least five emails to HCR for which I could find no substantive written response: 19 March 2026: I asked whether an end-of-April completion date was possible. 23 March 2026: I asked for an update on searches and timelines. 20 May 2026: I asked whether the relevant action could be completed that week or by the following Tuesday. Multiple requests for monies already paid: 10 June 2026: I replied to an account statement saying, “I believe these have been paid?” They did not respond, they then requested the money again. 13 July 2026: I explained that the charges had been paid on 26 May and attached the statement. They did not respond. Further account correspondence followed in September. 10 September 2026 I replied “Please stop emailing me regarding monies already paid”. They have again failed to respond.
