Kitson Boyce LLP

We employed Kitson-Boyce to sell our home. We had a poor service start to finish. Jenna never updated us or communicated any changes. We had to constantly chase for updates and was told there was no update or they will finally do what has been asked of them such as communicating to our buyers some information. Jenna, our solicitor, always challenged simple requests such as an up-to-date gas check for the house which was apparently 'not in her remit'. Previous solicitors requested this without asking. When we asked why there was no progress it was always someone elses problem like the buyers solicitors haven't responded. Jenna went on holiday and never told us. Her away email was to contact her assistant who was away but had no away email. We only found out through a 3rd party. On the day of the move, they did not release any funds until 1 hour after the communicated time and we were not released the keys until 2 hours after this time. This cost us extra money and we could not fully use our moving service due to the time delay costing us an extra £500 for something we could not use. Jenna never called to update all day if there were any delays. We were never able to get in touch via phone call with Jenna. We were so disappointed and would never recommend these solicitors.

Kitson's undertook conveyancing for two properties on my behalf. One sale fell through before completion and the other was successful. I experienced excellent service throughout.

We strongly recommend Jenna Hamilton-Pursglove of Kitson Boyce Exeter for prompt, excellent and cost-effective conveyancing and property services. Jenna has helped us with a purchase of a property (family home) , a sale of an Exeter investment property and an application to register an easement in respect of a private parking space. She is very knowledgeable, efficient and responsive. Kitson Boyce sent out our seller's contract in a matter of days from instruction and in contrast, the buyer's solicitors then took many weeks to respond even get the searches done. We are currently instructing Jenna / Kitson Boyce Exeter AGAIN in relation to another sale of an investment property.

We recently purchase a property with Kitson Boyce acting for us. We dealt with Jenna and Jasmine both acted professionally but with a touch of friendliness which helped greatly in what could be a very stressful time. We would definitely recommend them as they definitely kept us informed of developments and completed the sale on time.

I used this firm because they were recommended by our estate agents, but unfortunately the experience wasn’t great. Communication was sometimes slow, and I found myself having to chase for updates more than expected. There were multiple spelling mistakes on my contract and no apology for the errors, which didn’t inspire confidence. They did get the job done in the end, but I wouldn’t choose to use them again. Some positives, but overall a frustrating experience.

Kitson Boyce helped me with an employment agreement. I found that I was treated as a person and not a number throughout the whole process. All my questions and concerns were answered and fully explained during the process. The Partner and PA were always on hand and returned any calls very quickly. I would use Kitson Boyce again without hesitation as they are truly professional in all they do.
