Dear Coll Jee, thank you for sharing your feedback following your mother’s Will appointment. I am sorry you feel that your time was wasted and that you weren’t happy that your mother was seen on her own to take her Will instructions. This is normal practice as we must always ensure that clients making a Will have the capacity and understanding to give proper instructions in line with their own wishes, otherwise the Will would not be valid.
During the appointment our very experienced solicitor assessed the information provided and decided that we were not able to proceed with instructions in this case. This decision was made after considering our professional responsibilities and that was explained during the meeting and of course no fee was charged for the appointment.
We aim to conduct all meetings professionally and respectfully, and we take all feedback into consideration. If you would like to discuss your experience further, please feel free to contact me further using info@backhouse-solicitors.co.uk. Kind regards, Ben Backhouse.
