We found ourselves in a very stressful situation with our past landlord over dilapidations. We worked through this methodically with Chris and came to a suitable conclusion, which ended up in the landlord owing us money!

The divorced mother of 7 and a 10 year daughter wanted to amend her shared child care agreement to relocate herself and her children from Shrewsbury to a location near her work-base in North London; the father also works and lives in North London. The father was contesting the relocation for reasons which were never made clear, other than his pathological desire for control over his ex-wife’s life. A simple decision for a matter that went before the court, you would think! However, the solicitor had advised the wife not to approach house vendors or potential schools as, in his view, the judge might find this action presumptive of the outcome of the hearing. The judge had other views, however; he criticised the mother for not putting future home and schooling plans before the court. Fortunately, the mother had gone behind the solicitor's back and acted against his advice. She was able to declare an offer accepted on a home and schooling plans at the hearing. The judge was still highly critical that these plans were not declared to the court before the day, and the father’s barrister made much of this, interpreting it as deception. The outcome hung in the balance; the judgement was held over for 3 days and the wife’s barrister believed she would lose. So, not as simple a decision for the court as thought! Would you put that down to solicitor incompetence? Put yourself in the shoes of the judge. The wife’s firm is Wace Morgan; the solicitor is Robert Adams.

Over the last year and a half Bill has helped me with Probate mattes and a Deed of Variation following my Dads passing. Bill has conducted both matters with sensitivity at what has been a difficult period that I have been negotiating my way through and leaving me with a sense of peace knowing that things were being dealt with on my behalf.
