      Expect to chase, if they'll help at all

      Winston Solicitors did the conveyancing for my flat purchase. I found it a generally confusing and frustrating process, communication being limited. Nevertheless, when it came to sell it years later, I thought it best to go with the firm who knew me and the property. Got a response saying 'we are unable to act on the matter,' no explanation. Maybe they lost the leasehold expertise?

      Highly recommend Winston Solicitors

      We recently used Winston Solicitors for conveyancing on both the sale of our previous home and the purchase of our new one. Michelle Ayres was exceptional throughout. She was accessible, proactive, and it genuinely felt like she was on our side and working in our best interests. There were a few challenges in the chain, but Michelle was always willing to take the time to explain the situation, outline our options, and keep everything moving. As our process stretched over 6 months, there were times when Michelle was out of the office, but Olivia Cooke and Samantha Robertson-Strong seamlessly picked things up and ensured nothing ever slipped. It was an outstanding experience that made a difficult and often stressful process far more manageable. We would highly recommend Winston Solicitors, and especially Michelle, to anyone, and we will certainly look to use their services again in future (although we plan to enjoy our new home and give ourselves a well earned break for now).

      I have no hesitation in recommending Samira and Aminah from Winston Solicitors to anyone. After speaking with a few solicitors, I proceeded with Samira because of her responsiveness, and I cannot fault her and Aminah on their proactiveness. Emails were answered the same day, sometimes in the evening but often within an hour or two, which made an anxious process considerably easier to bear. Costs were very clear up front, and I was kept informed about where I stood on spend before I had to ask. I always felt like I got value for the money I spent, and nothing erroneous was billed for. Really happy. When it came to the matter itself, Samira’s practical judgement was excellent. When the usual approach stalled, she suggested a different route instead of simply repeating what wasn’t working, and it moved things along. She also found a sensible way around an obstacle that could have held everything up. She was thorough on the detail too, and held firm on a point that mattered rather than pushing me to sign and be done with it. Throughout the whole process, both Samira and Aminah were aware of the effect the process was having on me personally and handled it with real care. Warm, straightforward and clear-headed, which is exactly what you want when you’re out of your depth. I’m very happy with the outcome and with how it was handled.
