Horrendous company

We were referred to DAS Law by NFU Mutual after our stone porch collapsed, a serious structural failure that could have caused serious injury. From the beginning, our experience was frustrating and disheartening. The case was assigned to a representative whose background was primarily in personal injury law, not in construction or product liability, which was concerning given the complexity of our claim. Over the course of 18 months, we dealt with delays, vague communication, and a lack of clear direction. Multiple structural engineers assessed the porch, and we provided all necessary information, yet little progress was made. In the end, after a lengthy and exhausting process, we were told that a barrister would not support the case, effectively closing the matter with no resolution. We’re fortunate that no one was harmed when the porch collapsed, but the legal process added unnecessary stress. Based on our experience, and the consistency of other poor reviews, DAS Law appears under-resourced and lacking the necessary expertise for handling complex claims. We would not recommend them for cases requiring specialist knowledge or timely, proactive legal support.

A two bit claims service employing glorified pen pushers

I had an accident because a coal delivery vehicle pulled out into my path . Because of my determination (not DAS’s) the other side caved in and admitted liability. After 5 years they still couldn’t get me a settlement even though they had a clear kick at the goal . There was injury reports required from various places, DAS didn’t bother themselves to get them. In the end it was me who spent hours on the phone doing their job for them. The last straw was when they changed my representative without a reason (probably because I was trying to force them to do their job properly) . I sacked them after 5 years of rubbish claims management, this could easily have been resolved in 18 months. From a legal perspective they couldn’t punch their way out of a paper bag. I strongly advise against using this company-diabolically awful .

Legal Cover Through Insurance

I was appointed DAS law via my insurance when i put forward a home claim for trespass. The whole process was new to me and I checked online for reviews of DAS law, just as you may well be doing now, and you may well be as shocked and as worried as I was... It is only fair then to leave my honest review of the process and my experience of DAS. To start with, what I didn't know to begin is that most house insurance policies with legal cover provide cover on a 'reasonable chance to win' provision - so unless they think your case has a 51% or greater chance of winning you may be refused at this stage - this is also constantly reviewed throughout your case so it can be revoked at any time. 51% may seem reasonable but I think it's fair to say that the boundary used is probably only between 40% - 60% so the margins are narrower than you may think. I was fortunate enough to be above the barrier and the case was therefore undertaken and supported throughout. The legal system moves slowly and you do have to get used to a number of weeks waiting between contact and between either parties - do your best to have faith in your solicitor and the process and sit back for the ride - my case ended in 8 months (when my entitled neighbour finally realised that there is a distinction between entitled and legally entitled...) they can take up to 2 years. Throughout the process my solicitor, Catherine Green, was professional, helpful, committed, reasonable and a great sounding board - I can't thank Catherine enough, and in turn DAS as her employers - my experience was positive, I was lucky to have the probability of winning on my side, I do wonder if some reviews are based more on this than the actual experience of the solicitor/firm but it is only fair I give my review and perhaps offer a little light to anyone like me who originally read these and had a few sleepless nights!

Personal Injury

Poor

My detail passed to them after a car accident. Young driver hit our car totalling it after ignoring give way signs at a junction . He tried to drive away was stopped by passers by police arrived he then failed road side test at 11 am on a Sunday morning. We were taken to hospital. I had extensive bruising hubby muscle damage to neck and chest. Dax Law handled case but wish I had gone elsewhere. Think they may have insurance companies interest or own over ours. They took ages to respond to anything and the offer for injuries was so low it didnt even cover car excess. I refused to accept sending an email to the effect saying I would not sign letter allowing them to accept insulting offer hubby did same but they ignored that and I have just got an email saying they have accepted a full settlement offer no idea how much for doesnt say but I didnt authorise it wanted to go elsewhere. Unprofessional Ignore you and dont work in your interest. Go elsewhere

Minus 10 Stars would be too good for DAS Law

Insurer DAS passed our claim to DAS Law, their top panel solicitor. DAS Law service is extremely poor and predatory. Give them business at your own perils.

Worst Experience ever, avoid at all costs

Worst Experience ever and avoid at all costs. Made a claim for Property Repossession in July 2023. They have been holding, time wasting for nearly 1 year. Now they are saying they cant go ahead with the claim, because they made a mistake by not checking the name spelling correctly on the Gas Safety Certificate. Sheer incompetency. Shut Down your shop asap.
