Myself and my partner recently both sold our properties and purchased our first one together, Emily Allen handled each transaction and guided us both through each of our individual processes and then through our joint purchase. Emily was thorough, engaging and extremely communicative throughout the entire process. The formalities you have to complete were easy and processed efficiently, each member of the team we spoke to at HCR were friendly and informed - we couldn’t recommend them enough!

I had used HCR in the purchase of my flat, so I naturally reached out for the sale of the flat. My original solicitor had changed roles and introduced me to Laura. You wouldn't have known that she did do the purchase! She had the file and was on top of the issues right away. I think HCR has the balance right in terms of efficiency and partner time. The automation of some aspects is a great help in keeping the costs down, but also in keeping attention on the issues and not the process. Laura was very friendly, accessible and communicative. She solved all the issues with ease. I would highly recommend HCR and Laura to anybody.

Laura has been amazing to work with on several matters. Sadly my Mum was diagnosed with incurable cancer and died after a very short illness. Time pressures were high as Mum’s house, our family home for 55yrs, was not registered with Land Registry. Laura’s team expedited this with HMLR and this meant Mum’s Will could be completed in time. Laura also dealt with the conveyancing on the probate sale - and handled a rather tricky buyer’s (cheap online) conveyancer professionally and patiently. Laura was instrumental in driving our agent to reach exchange and completion - when at times we considered pulling out of the sale and delisting. Overall her empathy, care, candid communication and ability to raise a smile, made all the difference. During tough times kindness is invaluable - and Laura is truly kind. I would never consider working with anyone else on a sale or a purchase. I have also recommended Laura to three other buyers - all have been equally impressed with her service and advice. Brilliant. Thank you Laura 🙏

My experience with HCR Law was mixed. There were some positive aspects and the transaction ultimately completed, but communication and follow-through were significant sources of frustration. Reviewing my correspondence, I identified at least five emails for which I could find no substantive written response, covering at least eight separate questions or actionable requests that were not clearly answered or completed in writing. On one particularly time-sensitive occasion, I had emailed the previous day and telephoned twice without a response, despite needing to exchange that week. I was also repeatedly asked to clarify or resupply financial information that HCR already held. On several occasions I explained that the relevant account statements and source-of-funds information had already been provided, but I was nevertheless required to go through the information again. Account administration after completion was particularly frustrating. HCR chased for money paid in June, the month after, when I provided the payment date and supporting statement again in July, and by September had to ask HCR to stop contacting me regarding monies already paid. We will see if they respect this now. I was also disappointed by the handling of specific instructions that mattered financially. These included my request to establish whether I could buy the blinds at the property and my instruction to seek a £10,000 reduction in the purchase price, following information found in the surveys. I believed this had been taken through to the sellers but it had not, which I only realised too late in the day ti challenge. From my perspective, these matters were not followed through adequately and this left me financially worse off. There were occasions when useful advice was provided, particularly around legal enquiries and the risks of proceeding without sufficient information. However, I felt that I had to monitor, chase and manage too much of the process myself. Better record-keeping, clearer responses and stronger ownership of client instructions would have made a considerable difference, as well as handover when holidays we taken. The process was a lot more painful than it needed to be, especially at the end. Verbatum: At least five emails to HCR for which I could find no substantive written response: 19 March 2026: I asked whether an end-of-April completion date was possible. 23 March 2026: I asked for an update on searches and timelines. 20 May 2026: I asked whether the relevant action could be completed that week or by the following Tuesday. Multiple requests for monies already paid: 10 June 2026: I replied to an account statement saying, “I believe these have been paid?” They did not respond, they then requested the money again. 13 July 2026: I explained that the charges had been paid on 26 May and attached the statement. They did not respond. Further account correspondence followed in September. 10 September 2026 I replied “Please stop emailing me regarding monies already paid”. They have again failed to respond.
Used Sarah Loveridge for the sale and purchase of property. She was a consummate professional throughout, despite having to deal with some less that competent solicitors in the chain. Can't recommend her highly enough. She also dealt with the sale of my brother's property and he had a similar experience

We instructed Wright Hassall over two and a half years ago to handle the first registration and transfer of property following my husband’s death. The property is still not registered — let alone transferred. For months, I was told they were “waiting for the Land Registry”. Eventually, they stopped responding altogether. I lodged a formal complaint at the end of June 2025, but to this day, I have received no meaningful update — only vague assurances that the matter is “being looked into.” After speaking directly with HM Land Registry today, I discovered they have been waiting since February 2025 for additional information they requested from Wright Hassall, and the firm is yet to provide it. This level of incompetence and poor communication has caused me immense stress on top of the grief of widowhood. I am unable to sell the property because of their inaction, and their handling of this matter has been nothing short of unacceptable. If you value efficiency, transparency, and professionalism, I would strongly advise caution before instructing this firm.
Absolutely one of the worst experience I have ever had after house sale fell through..my advice would be to definitely do your research before you contemplate using them.

It has been an absolute pleasure working with Tom from HCR legal. Tom has helped me with the remortgage of my property and it has been a smooth process from start to finish. Tom is the first ever Solicitor that has actually fulfilled their promise/ timescale and has met deadlines which is shocking as everyone knows how long Solicitors take. Tom has provided excellent customer service, he has a very positive attitude and has always provided me with clarity when I have raised something. Thank you for also providing such quick responses and for updating me regularly on the situation. I will be definitely using this firm again, thank you again Tom.
We're delighted to hear that Tom and the team were able to assist you with remortgaging your property, Raveena. We will be sure to pass on your positive feedback regarding their timely responses and positive attitude throughout and look forward to working with you on any future transactions.

I can not thank this company enough for the work carried out to help with a passport problem. My passport was stolen and it took months to sort out. Emily saddler helped with this and I now have a passport. Professional and understanding. I will always be greatful

I had a faultless experience here. I can not thank Emily Sadler enough for all their help and support. Ten star service
I had a fantastic experience with HCR Law my immigration process. The team was professional, knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely supportive from start to finish. They made what could have been a stressful and complicated process feel much more straightforward and manageable. Thanks Dionne! I really appreciated their attention to detail, clear communication, and willingness to answer all my questions. The support I received gave me confidence and peace of mind during the entire process. I would highly recommend HCR Law to anyone looking for reliable, professional, and friendly assistance with their immigration needs. Excellent service from start to finish!
