Our process from viewing a property to completion was just 8 weeks. This was in a large part due to Grace being absolutely fantastic. She was always kind, courteous and reassuring us at times when we were most anxious. She always promptly replied to emails and remained professional throughout the process. We had to give 5 stars just purely based on how brilliant Grace was, however, our experience with Foys overall unfortunately soured in the final week. Grace left to go on annual leave during our completion, which we knew 3 weeks in advance. We knew that funds would be released from my Lifetime ISA on the 3rd August, and completion was on the 7th August. As soon as our funds were released we called Foys every day so that we could get contracts exchanged. This still didn't happen until less than 24 hours before completion. Foys did not contact us once in this period, as every email and phone call was initiated by us, and there were a lot of them. We only found out that contracts had been exchanged because we called them to ask. We were told that there was nothing to worry about and that we had everything we need and that completion would go ahead no problem. At 1pm on completion day, we called to see if there was any progress. Foys told us that we were missing a document with our broker and that we had to send it in the NEXT HOUR in order for our funds to be released. Even though we had already asked THREE times if there was anything we needed to send. What would have happened if we hadn't called them? They clearly knew that we needed to send a document because the solicitor mentioned it as soon as we mentioned our name on the phone. If we hadn't called, completion would have been delayed, which would have been very costly. We appreciate that it is difficult to manage your own caseload as well as someone else's on annual leave, which is why we haven't named the solicitor. However, this is a failing of Foys, whether it be management or the solicitors themselves, so this five star review is not for Foys, but solely for Grace and how brilliant she was. As I mentioned, viewing to completion in 8 weeks with a small chain is miraculous, so we know how lucky we are.
