Feeling let down and unsupported

After 4 & half years of going through this process of making a claim; in a case where I had no blame, with the defenders insurer admitting liability, I am left feeling totally let down and unsupported. The1st year Leigh Day were proactive with my case. However after this time & especially in the last year & half they have delayed so much as to be detrimental to the case. Leigh Day were unable to secure funds during this time to be able to fix my vehicle or any of my expenses, paying for all my own physiotherapy which I was assured the insurer would pay. I was sent to a medical consultant who mislead about his specialty. When I most desperately needed legal advice on how to proceed I was told 'it would be difficult to give me any clear advice'. No support was given after repeatedly reporting how the case was effecting my mental wellbeing. I feel that my emotional, physical and financial needs were treated with utter contempt. I am now worse off than if I hadn't made this claim. I had no choice but to settle. I wish I had never taken my case to them.

Beware "No win, no fee" doesn't mean "No win, no fee"

Signed up with them get compensation for the failed Woodford investment fund. I was led to believe this was on a "No win, no fee" basis. They failed to get compensation but still want a fee.

Where do I even begin, there are not enough words to share my gratitude. I started this journey back in 2021, after suffering life-changing injuries following the birth of my child. Even making that first step to contact a solicitor was something I went back and forth on so many times. I didn’t know if I had the strength to face it all again—the memories, the trauma, the unknown. What I didn’t realise then was just how long, detailed, and at times overwhelming this journey would be. There were moments where I had to relive some of the hardest experiences of my life, and that is not something you can ever truly prepare for. But from day one, I was never alone. Kirsten Wall has been beside me every single step of the way. Through every question, every worry, every moment of doubt—she was there. Patient, kind, and always understanding. She didn’t just do her job, she truly cared. Marie and Ayla have been just as incredible, showing the same compassion, reassurance, and dedication throughout. I cannot put into words how much it has meant to feel heard, supported, and believed during such a vulnerable time in my life. This team of amazing women have handled everything with such sensitivity and strength, never once making me feel like I was just another case. They made me feel human. They made me feel safe. Five years later, as this journey comes to an end, I look back with so much gratitude. Not just for the outcome, but for the people who stood beside me and helped me through one of the most difficult chapters of my life. If you have suffered birth trauma and are unsure whether to take that first step—please know you don’t have to go through it alone. Kirsten and her team will stand with you, support you, and fight for you with everything they have. I will be forever grateful.

from Leigh Day

Thank you for sharing such a deeply moving and personal recommendation. We understand that taking the first step toward a clinical negligence claim, especially following a trauma, requires immense courage. Knowing they made you feel safe, heard, and "human" throughout such a difficult journey is the highest praise we could receive. We are truly honored to have stood beside you, and we wish you and your family peace and the very best for this next chapter.

I recently had cause to claim compensation for an accident which was not my fault. I chose Leigh Day and very glad I did. They made it simple and stress free from the start and always kept me informed. In particular Mary Ojidu made me feel that my case was important to her and did everything to get the result I I think I deserved. I would definitely recommend them.

Evidently not a serious law firm..... I contacted Leigh Day hoping they would accept a case of complex multiple breaches, with plenty of documentary evidence, and was assured they were different. I detailed my situation as a disabled and vulnerable person already at risk and, in no uncertain terms, I was advised not to contact other law firms. Their claims to espouse integrity and championing the underrepresented are baseless - my case has grounds for financial restitution, but I'm seeking institutional accountability. After initially displaying interest, they rejected it on caseload capacity grounds. I guess the combination of Legal Aid, ongoing breaches, call recordings, documentary evidence of failings, and an informed and articulate client aren't quite the cash-cow of medical negligence. There's that too, but they didn't stick around to hear it. I thought they'd have loved me having a call recording of a high-risk GDPR breach happening in real-time, caused by mishandling of my sensitive data. Multiple failures, multiple agencies, piles of evidence, but they perhaps wouldn't bat an eyelid even if I died, unless someone could be sued. All-in-all, nothing about my interactions with Leigh Day make me believe they're capable of enacting their stated ethos: I was hoping for someone with integrity to view this case and, while the person who first answered the phone seemed lovely, the convincing impression disappeared when followed-up by a colleague who seemed uninterested in me and my ongoing harm and more focussed on information to ascertain the payday potential and (more importantly) to backtrack on his colleague's pre-engagement conduct. Mind you, she actually heard more of the story, so her assurance and instructions may have been from a more informed position than his if his treatment any notes was as rushed and impersonal as our interactions. I've got all these calls recorded too, if anyone from the Solicitors Regulation Authority wants to listen.

Thank you for taking the time to provide detailed feedback. We are genuinely sorry to hear of your distressing experience and of the dissatisfaction you felt following your contact with our firm. We take all comments very seriously and regret that we did not meet your expectations. We apologise if any member of our team gave the impression of indifference or of prioritising costs over the merits and seriousness of your concerns. If you believe your concerns involve professional misconduct, you may also contact the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) directly. We will of course co-operate fully with any regulatory enquiries. Once again, please accept our apologies for the distress this has caused. Came in a for pre-action chat with the head of clinical negligence, huge mistake; she made it clear that she works with the NhS to keep claims out of court and also had never heard of the duty of candour imposed by section 20 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and didn’t understand its relevance to Clinical Negligence claims, even though it’s explicitly mentioned in the Pre-Action Protocol re notifiable safety incidents. She was also wearing a really gross giant diamond ring, probably from Africa?….SRA would have a field day if they were to look into that department, not disability friendly at all

from Leigh Day

Thank you for your feedback, Maxi. We’re sorry to hear that your experience with our pre-action team did not meet your expectations. We take concerns regarding professional knowledge, communication, and accessibility very seriously and will review your comments internally to help improve our services. Kind regards, Leigh Day

Bethany, Lucy and Jane have been outstanding throughout our claim. They have been patient, flexible and sensitive in handling my daughter’s case and have always made it a priority to work around us and what worked best for my daughter. They have been especially kind and careful when engaging with her directly. Making time to meet with us face to face in London with our Barrister Gemma, was hugely appreciated and effective in finalising the details of our claim. We didn’t feel rushed or pressured at any stage of the claim and was therefore able to make an informed decision that was right for my daughter. We are extremely pleased with the outcome that they have worked so hard for. A very big thank you!

Left feeling let down and betrayed

I share my experience on here as my experience being a client of Leigh Day, Panagram was such that I would not want anyone to go through what I went through. The initial meeting was filled with promises and assurances that amounted to nothing. The service I received slow and second rate as I was handed a junior person who was away on leave for most of my case which meant that the solicitor in charge overall appeared to have little or no time for my case despite assuming me on numerous occasions that she was 'working very ' my case. I found her attitude unhelpful and short. After a long period of time where I thought and had been led to believe we would be going to court I felt that they bailed on me under the guise of considering the offer I had received was good enough. I felt as if they lost interest - were not on my side - did not fight my corner and when it came to actually doing the work and fighting for my physical and emotional wellbeing in an accident that had nothing to do with my doing anything wrong they gave up. I wish I had never started with them as I spent two years tip toeing in every conversation in the hope that when push came to shove they would come through which they said they would.

An exercise in futility.

After climbing from the wreckage, instructing Leigh Day is like plunging your hand into a blender. This appalling firm is simply not competent and not entirely professional. Proceed with extreme caution. The case started badly and over the following five years there were serious mistakes and failings including the failure to obtain a vital witness statement. This was followed by allegations of lying and dishonesty. The Americans would describes this firm as a 'Yard sale.' So imagine random and unwanted things carelessly strewn about in a disorganised and badly managed manner and you will have an idea of what to expect.

I called the office several times leaving a message for someone to call me back. I was then asked to send all my personal information.
