We undertook the acquisition of a freehold of a property in London together with a lengthening and redrafting of the leasehold documentation once the acquisition was complete. The experience and depth of knowledge of your solicitor, Mr Norman Maddocks was excellent. This came through a number of times and most particularly in dealing with the former freeholders solicitors prior to completing the sale.
Brilliant service from the firm and my solicitor who ensured communication was frequent and comprehensive. Identified issues that may have affected myself as a purchaser and ensured that these were resolved in a professional and thorough manner. Many thanks! Would highly recommend :)

DREADFUL from the point of having signed up for their services to the end. It would have been easier to have conducted the case myself. Communication was long winded and unclear and the solicitor was unable to answer my questions succinctly and coherently, even ignoring difficult questions completely. I am unsure whether that was due to a lack of training, experience or that she just couldn’t be bothered. Rather than believing me, even with irrefutable evidence, she would rather engage in spurious unfounded conjecture - it was as though she was working for the other side. The experience was very frustrating and stressful. Needless to say there were many incidents of unnecessary cost. I should have used Wolferstons law firm, which I had previously engaged regarding a different matter as by contrast Wolferstons were excellent from start to finish.
Kate, we're very sorry to read your comments, and from what you've said, we're really not sure what has gone wrong - the comments about either not answering questions, or giving long-winded unclear communications just don't sound like our lawyers at all. And the 'spurious and unfounded conjecture' is certainly not the way that we would ever talk to or deal with clients. Our buyers used this firm to purchase our property, and it was hell. They clearly had no experience conveyancing within the local area, resulting in ridiculous expenses for us and long delays. Everyone, and I mean everyone, was banging their heads against a brick wall..
We are sorry to read your review, however we note that you are not a client of this firm and we are therefore unable to address this with you directly. However, having reviewed our clients’ purchase of your property, we note that there was a title defect identified on your property title at the outset of our clients’ purchase. This was brought to the attention of your conveyancer. This issue was raised irrespective of the location of the property and we are experienced in dealing with all manner of properties across England and Wales. We were unable to recommend to our clients that they proceeded until this issue was resolved and we would recommend that you speak to your own conveyancer to understand their reluctance to deal with this and any additional charges made by them in resolving this issue on your behalf. It would be usual for a seller’s conveyancer to be expected to resolve such title defects, however this firm went above what is normally expected of a buyer’s conveyancer to resolve this so that the transaction could proceed. Thankfully, this issue was eventually resolved to allow completion to take place, after we made further enquiries and were eventually able to put your conveyancer in contact with the original developer’s solicitor to persuade your conveyancer to address the issue. Once this issue was resolved, our clients were very happy to then proceed to completion with the knowledge that the issue had been identified and resolved, so that they would not encounter any such issues on any subsequent sale or remortgage of the property. We are sorry that you feel we are responsible for the delays in your transaction but we disagree that we are to blame for this. We will always act in the best interests of our clients, in resolving any title issues before they purchase a property.

I recently used Nash & Co for my house purchase and had a very positive experience throughout. The transaction was more complex than expected, but the team communicated clearly and consistently at every stage and always responded in good time. I particularly appreciated that they were realistic and professional throughout the process - they never overpromised, but kept things moving steadily and made sure I understood what was happening and why. I've had the pleasure of working with Louis and Ian on a retained basis around employment law queries and general advice. Whether it is just a quick query, a complex case support or anything in between both are always quick to support, a pleasure to talk to and clear on advice and guidance. They give a good balance of the legal aspects and commercial considerations which is the perfect balance. Knowledgeable, efficient but most importantly a pleasure to speak to. They additionally try hard to know our business, which goes a long way to giving informed advice.
Both my wife and I have nothing but praise for the way our conveyance was handled, Amy Paterson was certainly well organised, promptly, and effectively dealing with all the relevant correspondence. I was initially concerned about using and app and dealing with a lot of the paperwork electronically. Used Nash & Co as the conveyancer for my first house purchase. They were very communicative and explained everything clearly.
My parents each had Trusts set up by McClures which are no longer trading. Jones Whyte took over these and after an email conversation confirmed they would charge (not a small amount) just for them to assess how much work would be involved in doing anything with the Trusts. Whilst this would be offset if we did take things forward with them, they could give no other indication of costs until this review had been undertaken. This felt very unreasonable given they opted to take on the business when McClures disappeared. After undertaking some researched we came across a Facebook group and Nash & Co Solicitors were mentioned as a firm that could help. We were hesitant at first simply due to proximity, but Amy was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. From our initial contact with her we felt in safe hands with someone who knew what they were doing and truly cared to ensure we had the right outcome. Amy laid out the options and in our case we decided to keep the Trusts. Amy was always helpful and answered every query in a timely and open manner, nothing was too much trouble through the process and her fees were exactly as confirmed at outset, with no hidden costs snuck in, Amy even suggested how we could save money in the process. We would highly recommend Amy and her team at Nash & Co if you discover you have an ex McClures Trust. We are also considering Nash & Co for other legal work.
