I’ve recently used Backhouse Solicitors after being dismissed by my employer after over 30 years. I went to them just to get an offer agreement signed that my old firm had offered me. It was Sarina that told me that I had a good case for unfair dismissal and so the process began. Sarina was outstanding from start to finish. She listened to everything I had been through, and our conversations felt like a therapy session as well as legal advice. She was incredibly supportive, compassionate, and always made me feel like she was firmly in my corner. Sarina explained every stage of the process clearly, outlining all the possible options along with the risks and benefits of each approach. Her knowledge and professionalism gave me confidence throughout. After nearly 3 years of going back and forth with the other side (they were proving to be very difficult) we managed to get an out of court settlement over 3 times higher than the original offer. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Backhouse Solicitors, especially their Employment team, to anyone dealing with an employment dispute. Their support and expertise made a difficult situation so much easier to navigate.

Minal's advice was clear, well-reasoned, and easy to follow. Most importantly, it had a tangible and positive impact. While the fee is certainly not low, the exceptional quality of Minal's advice made it clear that the cost was fully justified. Thankfully, we don't need any other services at the moment, but if anything comes up related to employment matters, we'll definitely turn to Minal again. I would recommend the practice without hesitation due to the consistently high standard of advice and service we received. Again, thank you so much to Minal and members!

Neil Brown was extremely empathetic to my situation that I found myself in. Neil guided me through the process and explained how he could help. He was always concerned to how the situation was making me feel which elevated the stress and reassured me that it was in hand. Jane Harrington stepped in when Neil was on annual leave and she also took great care of me and did some important work. The two of them were always available and keep me fully informed at all times. The file is now closed and we got a good outcome after a long 6 months. In fact, everyone at Backhouse Solicitors have been fantastic. Billed as the work dictated, no hidden costs. Everything fuly explained in the billing nvoices. When you have to deal with major issues in your life you need to know that the people/company you choose will have your best interests at the forefront of the matter in hand. I never felt at any point that the team did not. Neil worked tirelessly on my behalf. Trust is everythin and I trusted him completely.

Minal dealt with an employment matter for me and I would highly recommend her and her team at Backhouse. A family member recommended Backhouse to me and said I need to deal with Minal as she is the best lawyer in Essex. I could not not be more thankful of her support, expertise and professionalism. Although I had been with the company for less than two years, I strongly felt I had been treated unfairly and wanted expert legal advice. The work done was very clear and all questions answered even 'spur of the moment' matters were dealt with quickly and effeciently. Having to deal with the passing of both parents last year, we needed help with the setting up of probate, selling the house and all other bits and pieces that needed tidying up.
