If there were more people like Qaisar Sheikh on this planet, the world would be a much better place. Let me explain: when I called him mid-way through my somewhat tangled-up EHCP application – in which an EHCP had been granted but without any detail, with a setting that needed to be changed multiple times and had also morphed into a phase transfer application – he was lightning-fast to grasp the complexities and nuances of the case. I knew the moment I spoke to him that I could trust him implicitly. Qaisar brings a unique blend of compassion, strategy and tactical thinking to his work, and from the outset, he fought for my son as if he was his own. He’s meticulous, consistent and an excellent communicator, with an encyclopaedic knowledge of case law and an uncanny ability to reel off relevant recent precedents. Philip Collins and Jessica Whooley have been exceptional throughout my time with them as a client. After a lengthy and intense Will dispute, Phil and Jess have both worked endlessly and proactively to get a 2 year long settlement over the line. Not only are their legal skills greatly appreciated but what sets them apart is the duty of care they show to their clients. Not only is a process like this financially draining (which they were very mindful of), but also emotionally draining. Jess and Phil were always available to clarify any concerns or listen to my frustrations and act upon them in a rational and professional manner. would highly recommend Qaisar Sheikh, solicitor, for anyone dealing with Special Educational Needs (SEN) cases. Qaisar stepped in in February, after my daughter had been out of school since September. From the outset, he was decisive, knowledgeable, and entirely focused on securing what my daughter was legally entitled to. Within few weeks, he successfully pushed the council to take action and my daughter was back in education. Following this, he and his team represented us at Tribunal, where we won the case against the council. The council was found to have acted unlawfully across all areas, and as a result, my daughter was finally granted a permanent placement that could — and did — meet her needs. Whilst Winckworth seem to be great on visas & immigration the same cannot be said for conveyancing. If you are looking into Winckworth for conveyancing- please make sure you read those reviews. We had no choice as they act on behalf of Sage Housing Association who my partner brought a shared ownership property through. We have been trying to sell this property (with a buyer found, chain free on both sides) since June 2023 (we are now in July 2024). Winckworth Sherwood have caused a mountain of delays. They failed to correctly spot that the car parking spaces in the lease were never actually registered on the title or lease plan filed a Land Registry meaning we then had to get them registered. As the property is shared ownership, our Solicitor requires authority to add these in from Winckworth and we have waited for 14 weeks (and counting) for a response. We are constantly told ‘as soon as possible’. Their ‘as soon as possible’ doesn’t seem very quick. Overall, Winckworth Sherwood have costed this sale 8 months worth of delays from just not responding, absolutely shocking from the Housing Association conveyancing team
