Seemingly overworked and unresponsive lawyers

Pro:
Our lawyer seemed consciencious and detail-oriented and when we did speak she explained the legislation to us clearly.

Con: We instructed Holmes & Hill at the beginning of the year to help with the leasehold renewal of our property. Communication with the lawyer from beginning to end was slow. One meeting was missed, emails took a while (it took almost four weeks for the solicitor to let me know the response from the landlord) and she seemed so busy with many other jobs that ours didn't feel high priority. When after 6 months she advised us to wait rather than proceed (due to lack of clarity on applicable legislation that could have been mentioned to us at the outset) we decided to close the matter and go elsewhere.

Used Holmes & Hills years ago for a house sale. Subsequently lost some paperwork this week and phoned up. Within 10 minutes I had the paperwork I needed. No fuss, just some security questions. Very helpful people. Highly recommended!
