Disappointing experience with communication and billing transparency
I instructed BakerLaw for family proceedings. While the case concluded, my experience deteriorated significantly in early 2026. I repeatedly had to chase for updates, including on court‑awarded funds and pension matters. Although the firm operated a 10‑day (later 7‑day) response timeframe, this was difficult in practice, especially around court deadlines, leading to last‑minute updates, stress, and time off work. I was not provided with clear timelines or meaningful responses to key questions, and I struggled to obtain a full and transparent breakdown of costs, despite significant funds being held by the firm. Overall, the lack of communication and transparency caused unnecessary stress at an already difficult time. I would encourage future clients to ensure clear communication and full visibility of costs throughout.
