I cannot thank Max Kennedy enough for his legal expertise and professionalism. I had been let down by another firm of Solicitors who should have been dealing with a time critical piece of work for me. After chasing them for several weeks regarding the progress, I was eventually told on Monday 22nd February that the solicitor dealing with the buyout had left the practice, had done absolutely nothing on my file and there was no one in the practice that could take the work on! I was devastated. After doing some research my friend ‘found’ Max Kennedy. I phoned your Worksop branch and outlined my situation to the receptionist. She passed my details on to Max and he immediately phoned me. He was absolutely lovely and asked me to email him an overview and the contracts. Max phoned me back within a very short space of time and said he would be able to act for me and deliver his part within the exceptionally tight time scale of five days inclusive. The following day (23rd February) I received an email from Max at 19.48 in the evening, stating the contract alterations were now complete. Amazing! I asked Max if he could contact the opposing solicitor to undertake any negotiation and bring the deal over the line by Friday 26th at the latest. Max immediately did this, keeping me up to speed at every point. He phoned me on Thursday 25th to confirm the deal had been concluded! As far as I am concerned Max went above and beyond my expectations throughout the course of the transaction. I was completely dazzled by his professionalism yet lovely and friendly nature. He worked tirelessly to ensure the best possible outcome for myself, and I can't thank him enough. I’ve have engaged solicitors previously but Max is in another league! I wish to recommend Michael Horne of Kidwells solicitors. Michael Horne dealt with my case very effectively giving great accessibility first class advice and showing empathy towards me as a client. Whilst I am a coach by profession and former course leader for a BSc in sports Science, I also I have some experience of law being a former senior lecturer in one of Britain’s leading Law schools and having myself won “The Outstanding Lecturer of the Year Award” on two consecutive occasions. Downs were recommended to me and due to the incompetence of a previous Solicitor took up matters very late in the day when time constraints were critical. Despite this Julian Harvey , Emily MacNiven and Heather Love were excellent in dealing with matters to meet very difficult and tight time frames. Without them I am sure the sale would have collapsed. We have worked with Matt Briggs and Duncan Kay from Boyes Turner for commercial and individual matters. Both have been outstanding. 1) Communication is easy and I got a reply to all of my (many) questions without hours not days. 2) I have Matt's personal mobile for any emergencies. I try not to abuse it but is very helpful. 3) Quality of the advice has been great and I was given an insight into decisions behind giving the advice. Some decisions were not black and white so it was helpful to get an insight. Matt and Duncan have also shared best practice that some of their other clients use which has been very helpful.
