Pensions Sharing Orders (PSOs) and offsetting deal with how pension rights are shared on divorce or civil partnerships in England. In practice, a solicitor helps you understand how a pension looks from the scheme's perspective, collects information from the pension administrator, and persuades the court to quantify and share pension benefits. They draft the PSO or offsetting agreement, liaise with trustees or administrators, and ensure the order is registered so the scheme pays the correct portion to the other party.
