Fixed Fee Probates covers obtaining a grant of probate or confirmation on a fixed-price basis, where the solicitor manages the estate administration within an agreed fee. A solicitor in this area drafts and files the necessary forms, gathers the deceased’s assets and liabilities, and handles tax issues such as inheritance tax where applicable. They also appoints executors, communicates with beneficiaries, and oversees the collection and distribution of assets in line with the will and law. The fixed fee arrangement is designed to cap the professional charges for these steps.

Where a solicitor protects your position

The process hinges on timely steps to obtain the probate, settle debts, report and pay any inheritance tax, and legally pass assets to beneficiaries. If deadlines are missed or tax positions are misunderstood, or if the estate is complex, the fixed fee may not cover every complication.

In this awful impersonal online world, the traditional service from Bates Wells & Braithwaite which we received , could not have been bettered. Would thoroughly recommend this firm at Sudbury.

I have used NM Legal for updating my will and POA. No issues, all staff are knowledgable and friendly. Had previous experience of another law firm who did not have that experience and everything took multiple phone calls. I would thoroughly recommend NM Legal to anyone in need of services they provide. Staff friendly, nothing too much bother and most of all confident and know exactly what they are doing. Knowledge and service exceptional.
