The Sunderland office was dealing with my house purchase which was progressing based on a proposed completion agreed with the vendor. The presuure was suddenly ramped up when the vendor asked for a date one month earlier than planned owing to the impending expiry of their mortgage offer which they had totally forgotten to mention to anyone (including their solicitor and the estate agent). TBI Scanlans responded to this surprise very nimbly and had everything ready ahead of time. Days before we were due to exchange contracts, with completion due a week or so after, we were told that the vendors' solicitor had closed their office and gone out of business! With some limited help from the estate agent and a former conveyancer from the failed law firm, TBI Scanlans kept everything on track even though it all went down to the wire. The team did a great job in avoiding what could have been a total diaster - especially as this all occurred within the two weeks before Christmas.
