I urge anyone looking for a conveyancing solicitor to avoid Chattertons. In our experience, they use significant delay tactics, which resulted in 15 months of them repeatedly asking for information that had already been supplied numerous times and feel that their way of dealing with advice was nothing short of frightening, creating fear into vulnerable clients. They say that moving house is one of the most stressful experiences we can do in life and in our experience, Chattertons only add to an already stressful situation, without apparent care or empathy for their clients or the situation they are in.

AVOID! READ THIS FIRST. The service was extremely poor. Asked for their help recovering some funds when another business supplied us with a faulty engine and was unwilling to fix it. Tens of thousands in litigation and two years later, Chattertons lost the case on a technicality involving our company name. A huge oversight on their part that they are still unwilling to admit any fault on. They made it sound like it would be an easy win. It turned into an expensive loss. Chattertons went into court unprepared and despite claiming it would be “easy”, I ended up having to pay the other company thousands. So, not only did I have to pay to have an engine rebuild twice out of my own pocket, I had to pay Chattertons huge sums of money for the privilege, and I had to pay the engineering company for wasting their time. I had to constantly chase the partner responsible for updates. Months would go by without any correspondence. I tried to leave the final bill unpaid. They just kept hounding me for it. I wanted them to let me off with the final bill considering how much I had lost. I paid everything except the final £500. They threatened to personally take me to court. So in the end I paid the final £500. Bullies. I’ve used them previously for house moves and I would have done moving forward. Never again. Not after this. You’ve lost the business for my next house move and any other future legal work. Please note I never usually leave reviews. This is the first one I have ever left in my life. I just don’t want anyone else to suffer like I have.

Lackluster service, very expensive, charged for some things when largely done by myself, worked hours to suit themselves (late nights) rather than daytime so struggled to keep up with a toddler at home. Not 100% accurate and unavailable quite a few times. Left deadlines to last minute. Didnt feel like were working in best interests of myself a lot of the time. I did complain but not dealt with sufficiently. Wouldn't recommend.

Alice Morgan (and others) failed to properly engage and their delaying tactics caused extreme stress causing me hypertension. This has led to repeated suicidal thoughts for which the police and Interpol are aware. Chattertons refused to acknowledge any responsibility despite the fact I have 18 months of correspondence detailing their failings. They withheld vital files and information thus making recovery from their abuse impossible. This review site prevents full reporting of the failings of Chattertons but since their failings caused my heart disturbance and depression they are guilty of abuse.

I wanted to get a tenancy agreement created by an experienced solicitor for a property that I am renting out, so that I was confident it was fully legally binding. After searching several solicitors in the area I contacted Andrew Morley at Chattersons due to his vast experience with landlord and tenancy matters. I am very pleased that I did, as his work was excellent, prompt and professional. I certainly would recommend Andrew and I would use his services again.

First time using Andrew & Co, which was for new Wills and LPA's ahead of marriage. Andrea was the most friendly solicitor I've met, extremely efficient and understood what we needed to achieve.
