Absolutely shocking service from Hansells, absolutely no morals or integrity. After agreeing an offer for probate, they kept a property on the market. Whilst I have no legal recourse, as gazumping is still not illegal in England, you would expect companies to exercise some morality and agreeing a sale.

Whilst I have no legal recourse, as gazumping is still not illegal in England, you would expect companies to exercise some morality and agreeing a sale.
Only commenting as buyer of a property which was being sold through Hansells conveyancing service. There was initially no work done at all on the part of the sale solicitor for 7 weeks after receipt of enquiries. When communication occurred, it was incomplete and monosyllabic. We had to chase again and again for full details and updates. This was a theme throughout the transaction. Whenever the solicitor was absent, nobody stood in or covered the work, which resulted in long delays to the process. Their client had no understanding of the conveyancing process, which can only be down to a lack of explanation from the sale solicitor and estate agent. Disappointing to deal with and therefore cannot recommend.

Everything necessary was done and in a correct manner. I was a little unhappy about the lack of urgency of the external organisation that registered the documentation. I understand from friends who are dealing with probate that this is not unusual. Hansells themselves were much more efficient.

Jane is nothing short of a godsend. We were facing an extremely stressful situation with the preparation and notarisation of several documents, then having them verified by overseas attorneys before finally couriering them. Jane was highly professional, calm, friendly and reassuring just when we needed that most. And, having notarised our documents, she went that extra mile by taking care of the whole thing on our behalf, immediately emailing the papers to the attorneys and sending them by courier. We would have paid almost anything for this sort of real, actual help, so were very pleasantly surprised when we received her invoice. We cannot thank her enough.

I dropped by Hansells on the off-chance that a solicitor could help me with a smallish task. I'd tried two other nearby firms of solicitors who couldn't help. On entering Hansells I was unbelievably fortunate that LW happened to be in reception. She most willingly gave her time immediately to the issue I had. With tea for me, entertainment for tiny grandson both cheerfully proffered by the friendly receptionist and my matter swiftly resolved by LW, it was the kind of experience that inspires faith in human nature and the profession.
