French estate

Following the death of my husband, I was faced with the issues of dealing with transferring title of our jointly held French property (a very small house) into my name only and subsequently the sale of the house. I had no knowledge of the stages involved or how to approach them. These difficulties were compounded by a very unresponsive Notaire in France. Lea came to my rescue, explained the process and various stages involved and undertook the negotiations with the Notaire. It transpired to be a long process (although I now understand that it is inevitably much longer than in the UK) but Lea chased and followed up with the Notaire, resulting in a successful transfer of title and sale. This help and advice was invaluable. Always professional but kind, understanding and empathetic. Someone on whom I could rely. With my sincere thanks to Lea and to Buckles.

probate not done.17\04\2023 - 31\12\2024 still waiting.

Don't use them for probate or will related, they take advantage of the situation. 2yrs still no closer to probate. Billed me for them calling a wrong number, billed me for them writing to wrong address, billed me twice for a clerical error on their part. Still no probate sorted. Take advantage of you grieving for lost ones. Save your money and find a better solicitor.

European estate planing

Extremely poor service. We sought advice from them as the said the were experts in cross boarder matters. It quickly became clear that they were not. We sought advice on the question of Brussels 4 and not once were they prepared to address the question. The only time it was mentioned was to say they couldn't address it without a fee. We paid the fee to find out they had no idea wanted to ask our french notaires for advice. We asked for a refund which was refused. Now we have to proceed to ombudsman and failing that small claims court. This is a pint of principles and I refuse to back down until I get a full refund. Avoid this firm.

Vicky dealt with probate for my Dad's estate and did so in a very efficient way, working around some time constraints on my side, and was extremely helpful in guiding me through my responsibilities as executor and answering my many questions. Buckles managed to sort out a bank problem after my Mum died, they were very professional, up front with the costs, kept me up to date with the process and got the job done with a successful outcome. My Mum lived in Tenerife and I had been trying to get this sorted out for two years, Buckles were recommended to me as they experts in dealing with inheritance from overseas.

There the worst people. Cold call the family to charge per mins calls to profit. Make unnessesary work for themself. To charge obv From start to finish very dark minded people. Please don't let these guys take all your deceased relatives money through charges they made up. Please if they do please don't accept it
