Top 10 of 214 law firms for Administrative Appeals, Administrative Law

Law firms ranked by client reviews

Administrative appeals cover challenging and revising decisions made by public bodies, such as government departments, regulators, or local authorities, where the decision is subject to appeal rather than judicial review alone. A solicitor in this area helps clients prepare and present an appeal, gathering supporting evidence, identifying the correct statutory route, and navigating tribunals or courts to obtain a decision that may change or overturn the original ruling. Key stages include drafting grounds of appeal, lodging with the First-tier Tribunal or Upper Tribunal, seeking permission to appeal, and presenting the case at hearings or in written submissions.

What a solicitor handles in these matters

These matters hinge on specific statutory schemes, procedural rules, and tribunal or court thresholds. The solicitor handles procedural steps, evidence bundles, expert referees, time limits, and potential directions or case management orders. They deal with public bodies, clients’ rights to information, and the interplay between statutory offences, penalties, and remedies.

Claire came into our Public Law case after going into our 4th year of proceedings following Private Law. She listened and understood the case very quickly. Advice was calming and focused. Claire understood what I had been trying to say as a Litigant in Persons (badly it would seem) but has settled things down. Claire can read through reports and see patterns and notices the smaller details. Claire made me feel like I was not going mad and brought back logic and narrative. She listens and is reasonable - human in her replies but logic and focused. Claire has brought me peace and taken a load off me so I can now become a parent again and not get bogged down in the paperwork. Fantastic and professional but also puts you at ease and feel heard and respected.

Lost DLVA Driving Licence through drink driving. Should have been getting licence back in May 2024, did a course so that it would have come back in October 2023. Did blood tests as requested and sent paperwork to DVLA from their doctor but they said that because I had been in rehab which I had not unfortunately the my doctor put down the wrong things so they said I would have to wait until the end of the year 2024. Came to see yourselves and relayed the situation. Was going to be heard at Basildon Magistrates at the end of April but because of new evidence am getting licence back.
