As a Solicitor myself, one chooses one's own lawyer carefully when acting for my own divorce matter. To that end, I could not recommend Paul Lancaster highly enough when acting in mine. Right from the get-go, Paul had a quick grasp of all of the issues at stake, and consistently advised in a calm, steady-handed and considered manner. What impressed me was his conscientiousness in ensuring no unnecessary costs were incurred. I also felt he argued in Court as well as any barrister could, which also represented a cost saving to me as a client. As a client, i found Paul to be reassuring and felt that I was in safe hands.

I instructed Blacks Solicitors on a complex and sensitive legal family law matter. They were chosen due to my having had success with the firm on a matter with a different team and I was previously impressed by the quality of advice, responsiveness and overall service provided throughout. From the outset, Paul Lancaster (who was advising me) demonstrated a clear grasp of the legal and human issues involved as well as potential risks. Paul provided practical and outcome focused advice at all times. He was meticulous, proactive in anticipating risks, and thoughtful in setting out options in a way that was easy to understand and act upon. Communication by him was consistent, clear, timely and (important for a family matter) reassuring. His legal expertise is tempered with sound judgment and a calm, confident approach that simply inspired trust. Paul’s commitment to achieving the best possible outcome was genuine and evident throughout. He went well beyond what one would reasonably expect. The outcome was pleasing and in line with my original aims. I would not hesitate to recommend Paul for anyone needing excellent family law advice.

I have recently used the legal services of Ann Robinson at Blacks. She is approachable and easy to talk to whilst being experience and professional. She has successfully supported me through complicated and demanding proceedings regarding a final financial settlement after my divorce. At times these proceedings were extremely upsetting and testing and Ann was always available with solid factual advice and an understanding of the situation. If she was not going to be available she always informed me and gave me the number and email address of her equally efficient Paralegal assistant. I would recommend Ann's legal services to anyone needing an experienced solicitor.

I had spoken to a number of family lawyers before choosing Paul Lancaster. He was the only one who understood what I hoped to achieve for my children, and he is a qualified Collaborative Lawyer, which I specifically sought, to help negotiate arrangements around childcare and finances. Paul was the first family lawyer that I had spoken to who suggested there may be a way to keep my wife and children in the family home, and defer a split of assets, through a Mesher Order; I knew that was what my two boys wanted. He also advised me about brand new legislation that had been introduced the previous month around mediation. Furthermore, he provided an invaluable balance and perspective when emotions around my divorce ran high, and there was a need for perspective and common sense. Paul is a member of Resolution, which was also important to me. All of his communications to the other party were conducted in a conciliatory, respectful and professional manner. Resolution’s ethos and Code of Practice is entirely in line with what I had hoped to achieve for my boys, and how I hoped to achieve those results. Throughout what turned out to be fully contested proceedings, Paul provided expert guidance and support to me and to my extended family during exceptionally difficult times. For this we will always be grateful. He is an exceptional advocate, and a very skilful negotiator, who I would happily recommend to anyone seeking a fair outcome for their family.
