Elaine is a Senior Associate at Crisp and Co. She practices a constructive and holistic approach to resoling conflict, which considers the needs of the family as a whole. Elaine’s ethos is that an amicable resolution to family matters can reduce the long-term financial and emotional consequences of a family dispute. In 2022, Elaine was awarded Resolution’s Specialist Accreditation, which recognises solicitors who have demonstrated excellence in the practice of family law and a commitment to constructive resolution of family disputes. Whilst her practice encompasses all aspects of family law, Elaine is the Head and Co-Founder of the Alternative Families and Fertility Departments within the Firm. She is immensely proud the work she has done in this area as she is a passionate advocate of Intended Parents as they embark on their journey to becoming parents. Elaine has a thriving practice in cases involving assisted reproduction, sperm donation, surrogacy, and adoption. Elaine is a member of the Surrogacy Network and spends much time developing connections with other professionals in the field of Surrogacy and Fertility Law, in order to provide a holistic service to her clients. She also has over 10 years of experience in dealing with the financial aspects of a separation for married couples and co-habiting couples alike. She has a wealth of experience of cases involving high net worth individuals, complex business structures, Partnerships, Trusts, inherited wealth, and intervenors. Elaine also advises in respect of pre and post nuptial agreements, matters concerning cohabitants and cases involving violence in the home. Elaine has a long-established practice in matters concerning children including cases involving contact and residence issues, domestic and international relocation, and matters requiring injunctive relief. Notwithstanding her commitment to an amiable resolution to conflict, Elaine is an experienced litigator, and has been involved in various cases in the High Court and Court of Appeal. Elaine has worked on reported cases which have set legal precedents on points of law. Elaine has recently been admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in Northern Ireland and will be developing her practice cross jurisdictionally as a result.
