Divorce - non compliant husband

This was a lengthy process as husband did not want to engage with providing information for the financial order and which resulted in 4 court appearances in order to assure the Judge was satisfied that all efforts had been made before he was able to make an order. I found it impossible to get an idea of how much this would cost me in advance and thereby how I could manage my own finances throughout this process . Although my solicitor could advise me of what I had to pay there was never a time in which I could feel comfortable that there was financial control in the process and this fear and the reality of financial burden became the over riding factor in a divorce ending a long marriage which should have been much easier and less burdensome on the person who was compliant . Me ! This however is a comment on the legal process and not the individuals who eventually supported me in getting a legal outcome. My solicitor - Francesca Sanderson - was patient and kind and the paralegal -Christine Ayres - was invaluable in keeping documentation in order ( I am dyslexic and found this especially helpful to be understood and supported with patience in this area ) My previous solicitors ( I had three in total) in this practice did not give me clear information or keep adequate records which made Ms Sanderson’s job harder and cost me more money than should have done as needed to signpost her to where the case had previously progressed to and to provide information that should have been clear in case files but was not . This was disappointing however Francesca made a good impression from our first consultation by listening and validating my concerns and told me she would do her best to get things back in place , take advice from seniors and would keep me informed - which she did . So whilst I feel that the overall experience with Stowe was not good enough I am happy that I finally got a team working with me and in my interest .

Unfortunately Lin Cumberlin does not recall my extensive clear verbal requirement at our initial meeting for ad hoc support resulting in a £1k bill for uninstructed work.
