Joseph Sherriff handled the conveyancing on my recent new build purchase at Ockley Park, Hassocks, and I genuinely cannot fault the service I received throughout the entire process. From the outset, Joseph was proactive in keeping me informed at every stage. Buying a new build comes with its own set of complexities, from dealing with the developer's solicitors to navigating incentive structures and gifted deposit arrangements, and Joseph handled all of it with real confidence and clarity. Nothing ever felt like it was being left to chance. What stood out most was the communication. I never had to chase for updates. Joseph was always ahead of the curve, flagging potential issues before they became problems and explaining things in plain English rather than burying me in legal jargon. When I had questions outside of normal hours, he was responsive and accommodating, which made a huge difference during what can be a stressful process. The level of attention to detail was exceptional. Every document was reviewed thoroughly, timelines were managed tightly, and when exchange and completion came around, everything ran smoothly with no last minute surprises. He coordinated seamlessly with the developer, the mortgage lender, and all other parties involved to make sure nothing slipped through the cracks. I've bought property before and have experienced the frustration of poor communication and drawn out timelines with other firms. Working with Joseph at Stephen Rimmer was a completely different experience. Professional, efficient, and personable throughout. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone looking for a solicitor who actually cares about getting the job done properly.

Had no choice but to terminate the instruction due to the number of errors made for what was a standard application. I've since used a different solicitor who have managed to get things done with no issues.

Family law is a very sensitive matter, my case was family law. Sadly, you expect the person giving you legal advice that you are paying for the know the law. And not miss very important points of law. That even a judge said he was surprised they missed. Sadly, if they had of been honest in the beginning it would of saved everyone a lot of time, instead they told me what wanted to hear they told me a good chance of winning it wasn’t until I got into court to mins before the hearing was about to start the barrister said you are likely to lose. Talk about burning my bridges, how did she think I would give evidence effectively knowing this. All they wanted was money to make money from me/Legal aid. If I could give them 0 stars I would. They had no interest in my case and really made no effort to win. The barrister they engaged was totally useless, at the beginning of my trial she said prepared to lose. What are you serious!! she never even tried. After the case I told the solicitor and the Barrister I wanted to appeal they said it was not a good idea and the chance of an appeal being successful were 0 they were wrong. I sacked them an appealed myself. I ended up gaining more than both Barrister and solicitor and managed to achieve. I have had not a day’s legal training in my life. They missed a huge point in law, and even the judge said it was a recognised fact. I complained about them, and they made excuse after excuse. Dreadful dreadful representation. Dont use them for a matrimonial case, especially not on Legal aid. They give you junior solicitor that has no experience and charges a fortune for doing nothing. To this day they still have not gained, financial disclose from my Ex they never even brough this up in court. My Ex wiped the floor with them and made them look so pathetic. They let a court leave my Ex earning thousand a month and my children and i with next to nothing. After the case the barrister for the other side changed the order without agreement from my side and send the order to the court for sealing. Crazy situation that the law is so bad these days that it lets people down in this manner. Hidden in these reviews I see there are others that aren’t happy with their service seems to be a trend. I am very sure in their reply they will not give a reason as to why they didn’t follow the law or advise me on the correct points of law.

A careful and considered approach to each problem has resulted in successful actions.
