Law firms ranked by client reviews

In England, this work covers the service of court and other legal documents in debt and tax matters, including notices, demands, writs and claims, and proceedings to enforce or defend those documents. A solicitor practising in this area drafts and issues summonses or statutory notices, ensures service under the Civil Procedure Rules, checks for defects in service, arranges for process servers where needed, and guides clients through response deadlines and the consequences of non-compliance.

What a solicitor handles in these matters

The solicitor handles the procedural steps to initiate or respond to actions, including applying for and dealing with forms, ensuring valid service under CPR Part 6, and coordinating service by post or personal delivery. They manage interactions with courts, track response times, and address issues such as deemed service, proof of service, and any required re-service or alternative methods when initial service fails, all within debt recovery and tax dispute contexts.

Mark Wilson

Tagged solicitor Mark Wilson

I had approached several companies and none of them would help me, Richard Nelson LLP were kind enough to give me the time to explain my circumstance, could see that I was out of my depth and needed help. I never engaged with Mark Wilson so I cannot comment of him as an individual, however Andy Maxfield his associate. Andy was really good, could understand my circumstance, showed realistic empathy for my circumstance along with delivering realistic expectations. He offered helpful and practical advice during the process and to support me going forward. I'm truly grateful to his team for the work they did. They worked really hard to try to organise and summarise some confusing data, present a concise and factual argument to the HMRC whom they already had a relationship with which allowed them to manage the approach in a manner that was controlled and specific and controlled the narrative. The cost was significant as a normal working person on a normal salary, but it was inline with industry standard costs for this level of expertise. I did not feel taken advantaged of and the reality is it cost what it cost. If i had been taken to court by HMRC the costs would have been more significant. It takes as long as it takes and you need to do as much leg work as possible for them to work efficiently and effectively on your behalf. I would recommend Richard Nelson for any normal person whom is struggling to understand the complex and frightening nature of tax issues especially if you have never been registered for self employment like I hadn't.
