Collaborative separation is a dispute resolution process in family law where separating couples work with separately instructed solicitors to reach a mutually agreed settlement without going to court. A solicitor helps draft and negotiate terms on finances, property, and children, and may arrange joint meetings, information gathering, and mediation-style discussions. If an agreement cannot be reached, the clients must switch to new representation for court proceedings. The aim is a durable, future-focused agreement rather than litigation outcomes.

“Lola and Natalie worked tirelessly on my case. When Natalie went on leave, Lola took over the proceedings seamlessly. She was always available to offer support, whether verbally or digitally, and was consistently well-informed, conscientious, and up to date. I would not hesitate to work with her again in the future”

“Having waited until we were 'sold' to reliable buyers to decide where we were going to downsize to, we needed to find a solicitor who was prepared to take on the conveyance of a new build leasehold purchase. A lot will not touch that sort of transaction we found - including the solicitor acting on our sale. Add to that the dubious reputation of the developer we were buying from, and the rush to complete before the stamp duty holiday ended, we did not think we would find the right person Lorraine at BWK was recommended to us and after an initial and long chat over the phone we knew we were in good hands. We had been forced to agree to a date for exchange of contracts that seemed impossible to meet and we got there by Lorraine's hard work (e mails sometimes timed at 0730 and 2200...) and professional guidance. The only problem with appointing a busy solicitor is that sometimes you do not get a response to questions as quickly as you would like but you have to accept that. Quite simply, we would not be here if we had not appointed Lorraine at BWK.”

“I used Claire for the sale of my flat which is share of freehold and the purchase of my new house. My flat is share of freehold and Claire was excellent at communicating with the co-freeholders who are slow to respond and required a proactive approach to get the sale through. I have since recommended Claire to my Mum who also sold and purchased and we both couldn't be happier with the service we received. ”

“A pleasant company to have work on our sale. The valuation for probate was done quickly and professionally. The subsequent sale process was handled well by Kate. Sensible approach to marketing and price setting. Kate kept us informed of progress and in a chain of four buyers/sellers kept things moving. All went thorugh smoothly and Kate answered all queries quickly, politely and professionally. Chased things as needed and communicated well with us.”
