Our experience with Ison Harrison Solicitors, specifically with John Burnett, has been extremely disappointing. In July 2025, the Leeds office transferred our litigation case to John Burnett. We did not approach him ourselves; he was introduced to us by the Leeds office. Since then, we have paid nearly £3,000 in fees, yet we feel that no real progress has been made on the case. What has been most frustrating is the lack of professionalism and communication. Mr Burnett has come across as very arrogant in his manner. At times, it feels less like we are being treated as clients and more like we are being spoken down to. Instead of feeling like valued clients, we often feel like we are dealing with someone who is talking to us as if we were children. Despite the amount we have already paid, Mr Burnett told us that he does not even have the full paperwork for the case. He has never properly assessed the case or explained the merits to us. We have repeatedly asked for a clear evaluation, but we have still not received one. In fact, the only thing he has done so far is write a single letter. We even had to collect that letter ourselves and post it ourselves. The letter itself was so basic that it felt like something we could have written ourselves without paying a solicitor thousands of pounds. Instead of providing a proper case assessment, the conversation quickly moved to requesting around £40,000 for barristers’ fees, without first explaining the merits of the case or giving us a professional opinion on the strength of it. As clients, we believe we have a very strong case, yet we have still not received a proper evaluation. Overall, we feel that we have paid a substantial amount of money without receiving the level of service, transparency, or professionalism we expected. Based on our experience, we would strongly advise others to be very cautious before instructing Ison Harrison Solicitors. Once they take on your case and your payment, it can feel like you are stuck without clear progress, answers, or support. This has been a very frustrating and disappointing experience for us.

Absolute shocker of a conveyancing firm. My buyer used them and they were hopeless. Caused unnecessary delays, accepted no liability, it would not be hard to find a better conveyancer to act on your behalf.

Maybe you should train your inept solicitors to tell the truth.... and not try to ruin people's lives....

I wouldn't use this company if it was the last company on earth, communication was shocking left weeks without returning our calls, rude, totally unprofessional even to the point of our solicitor sighing documents on our behalf which was never agreed. Also Loved to send a big bill every few weeks for work that had not been done. Dragged our case out longer than it should have ever gone on for 18 months later we swapped to a different solicitors and our case was done in no time

I would highly recommend this solicitors, they are professional, hard working,committed & truthful to their clients case. I have had a case with these for a number of years and I am extremely impressed with how they have handled it. It was complicated and tireless, however they have dealt with this and are firm with the defendants. I would particularly like to thank Helen and her team for the effort they have put into the long process of dealing with my case.They have kept me updated on developments as well as kept in touch to see how I am & how I’m coping.
