We can’t recommend Kate highly enough. Throughout an intense and complicated Family Court battle she provided a calm, professional and caring service, culminating in a fantastic result. She ensured we were well informed and understood our options from the start. Communication was always forthcoming and questions and an open dialogue were firmly encouraged. Her ability to to remain clear headed and exceptionally competent whilst also caring deeply about her clients is admirable. We would not hesitate to use her again.

Thank You, Highly Recommend Sarah Bolitho for Animal Legal matters.

I can’t thank Sarah Bolitho from Ison Harrison solicitors enough. She supported me through one of the most stressful times of my life fighting to get my dog back and because of her hard work, dedication, and compassion, I got him home. Sarah was understanding, honest, and incredibly knowledgeable. She took the time to listen and explain everything in a way that made sense, and I always felt like she truly cared. I never felt alone through the process. If you’re looking for someone who will fight your corner with professionalism and heart, I couldn’t recommend Sarah more. Thank you for giving me my baby boy back.

Recently used for buying and selling our house, struggled to get in touch with them when asking for updates, kept asking for documents after a deposit was moved from my account to my mums for saving, even after providing bank statements for money leaving and coming back in for mine and mums account, eventually charged us a ‘gifted deposit’ fee of £100 (I was not told there would be a charge for this). Was told to find out a lot of information ourselves and in the end just corresponded to our buyers/sellers via WhatsApp as quicker and easier than dealing with these. Absolutely wouldn’t recommend this company

Prompt, helpful and efficient

I can’t recommend Sonia Hussain and the team at Ison Harrison Bingley highly enough. Sonia was nothing short of magnificent throughout my house purchase. As a first-time buyer I was anxious and I’d heard so many horror stories about solicitors when buying a property, but she completely changed my perspective. She was efficient, responsive, and made the whole process feel straightforward and stress-free. Truly exceptional service!

Property Sale

It took ten weeks from accepting an offer on the sale of our property to exchange of contracts, but that seems to be normal in the UK. Having got to that stage Hayley was very efficient in getting the sale completed for us and very willing to contact us out of hours as we were overseas at the time. We found Hayley to be very approachable and we would use that firm again if we needed a solicitor’s advice.

I’ve recently bought my first property using Ison harrison as my solicitors. You always hear stories about Solicitors slowing down the process or not being helpful etc, but this is not the case at all with ison Harrison. Sonia and Oliver replied to emails in minutes and were always there to help this clueless first time buyer every step of the way. I thank them both massively and wish them both all the successes life brings.

I instructed Ison Harrison Solicitors to act on three separate property purchases over the past year. While the first two transactions were handled relatively smoothly, the third was extremely disappointing — particularly in relation to legal costs and communication.

The solicitor originally dealing with the third transaction left the firm partway through, and it appears there was no proper handover.
When the final invoice was issued — nearly a year after instruction — the legal fees had more than doubled compared to the original quote. Several items had increased significantly, and a number of additional charges were added with no explanation or prior notice.
In my experience — both with this firm and others — any substantial changes to legal costs should be clearly communicated as a matter of standard practice. That simply didn’t happen here.
I raised my concerns and even provided a direct comparison with a very similar previous purchase handled by Ison Harrison, but was told there was nothing that could be done.

This left me with no option but to withdraw from the sale — resulting in unnecessary stress for the seller, disruption for the agent, and financial loss for me.

It’s a real shame, as I chose to use Ison Harrison based on earlier positive experiences. But the lack of transparency and internal coordination in this instance was extremely poor.

I would not recommend Ison Harrison Solicitors based on my recent experience.

Excellent service from Lucy Wells at Ison Harrison. We had a bit of a rocky start with another solicitor in the firm but since Lucy took over we have made good progress. Her communication and knowledge is fantastic. Big thank you to Sally and Julie too, who have also been great.

About this branch

Description

We’ve all got a story of where we have come from, who we are and what makes us tick. This is ours. Over the past 45 years the firm has grown from a one man band to what is now a large regional law firm employing over 330 staff across 20 offices throughout Yorkshire. We offer the broadest suite of legal services in the region and are very much embedded in the communities in which we have offices. Whilst some of the growth has been facilitated through acquiring other smaller firms, most has been organic as a consequence of clients recommending us or returning for additional services. As you can see the firm has enjoyed substantial growth over the past decade. We have always taken the view that standing still as a business is not an option for us. We have seen many law firms either go out of business or reduce in size over the years and we were determined not to struggle in the same way. We have therefore constantly looked to improve. We have looked for opportunities to grow our profile, the number of our offices, and the breadth of services that we offer. We have looked for ways to improve our internal processes, employee engagement and how we deal and communicate with clients. All partners and managers recognise the importance of communication and set the tone within the firm employing honest, open and prompt communication with clients and colleagues alike.
