Very poor communication and guidance.
I highly recommend Askews Solicitors Limited to anyone in a similar situation. As a first-time buyer, part of my deposit came from Sri Lanka as a gift from my parents, which made the process more complex. Initially, I worked with Hewitts Solicitors, Emma Haworth, but unfortunately, we faced several challenges due to a lack of clear guidance on the documentation required and very poor communication. Previous buyer a an Indian Doctor who was trying to buy the same house with the same firm and the same solicitor faced the same scenario according to the seller of my property. Clearly there is some issues looking at it. Looking back, had we instructed Askews Solicitors from the beginning, I am confident the transaction would have completed in under three months. Instead, we lost valuable time with Hewitts law firm. In summary if the source of funds are from Asia based countries DO NOT GO AHEAD WITH HEWITTS.
