Had to deal with so many different staff members after an excellent legal assisrant became ill. All rather impersonal. Hoped for a solicitor in town but found I was apportioned one some miles away.

We note from your file that when your original adviser left the firm, your file passed to a new adviser to assist you, who was based in a different office. You were then enabled to meet in person with an additional adviser to sign the documents at an office location more convenient to you. We had hoped that this would be advantageous to you but are sorry to hear you have concerns around these arrangements. We always work hard to resolve any issues that our clients may have and have a rigorous complaints procedure in place to enable clients to raise their concerns with us so that we can address them. Exact requirements for the revision of our wills were not carried out. On the first draft our youngest of our three sons was totally cut out of the will. On the second draft there was yet another error which would have meant that son’s portion would not have come to his son if our son predeceased us. Meaning that portion would have been divided with all the other grandchildren. Not what was very clearly requested in writing on our first discussion. No very professional.

Cate and Deborah were very efficient and made the legal side of the sale of the property very easy.
Really poor service. Reactive rather than proactive. Lethargic and unenthusiastic. Wasted 2 years with Battens.

I received sound, solid advice from Battens Solicitors. They helped me with my Small, Money Claim throughout the whole case process. This help secured a successful result for which I am very happy about and very grateful for. Battens were not the only source of legal advice I took, but was easily the best. It was made clear to me what my options were, what I needed to do and when I needed to do it. As a result of this, in court I felt my preparation and evidence were much better than the Defendant's and this certainly helped to make and win my case. Battens are thoroughly recommended by me.
