I would not recommend David Kilty or DPP Law based on my experience. The firm were extremely disorganised throughout my case, even changing the lawyer representing me on the day of the hearing. There was a lack of transparency around costs, with additional charges not clearly explained in advance. Also, meetings were cancelled without letting me know or arranging a new one. More importantly, key inconsistencies in the prosecution’s evidence were not properly challenged, my lawyer failed to present my evidence and I was not given a fair opportunity to present my defence or provide context to important material. After my Magistrates’ Court trial, the firm refunded my fees in full, which raises serious concerns about the quality of representation provided. However the firm still refuse to acknowledge any responsibility, despite the refund. Overall, I felt my case was not handled to an acceptable standard, and I would strongly advise others to consider alternative representation for serious matters.

I engaged with Aidan Walley - Although my case was not taken up purely due to system red tape.....He educated me and I see the world differently...ALL other companies I reached out would say they cant help and referred me to find someone else...giving me false hope.....Aiden insight as to why in a weird way healed me.

Alyssia was assigned to our case on request. She was nothing short of being a truly professional, caring and patient person. I cannot recommend Elliot Smallshaw at DPP Law highly enough. Elliot recently represented me in relation to a judicial review concerning a decision by the IOPC, and I was extremely impressed with both the quality of his work. Elliot was communicative, approachable and clear. He took the time to explain the legal process and the issues involved in a way that was easy to understand, and I felt well informed about what was happening and what the next steps were. The pre-action correspondence he prepared on my behalf was exceptional. It was thorough, meticulously argued and extremely well written, and demonstrated an impressive grasp of both the facts of my case and the relevant legal issues. Following Elliot’s pre-action letter, the IOPC conceded a large number of the points that had been challenged. Legal proceedings can be daunting, complex and stressful, but having a solicitor who communicates properly, explains things clearly and gives you confidence that your case is being handled with real care and expertise makes a huge difference. I have also used DPP Law for other actions against the police and have consistently received an extremely high standard of representation from the firm. DPP Law helped me greatly throughout my case involving a severe injury at work. In July 2023, I suffered a fall from a ladder at work causing a deep cut to my thumb which cut through tendons. This resulted in hospital treatment, 4 operations over the span of 2 years as well as 58 weeks of physiotherapy. Understandably, this also had a major toll on my mental health, something that DPP Law greatly assisted me with a great deal of reassurance and support throughout. Once in touch with DPP Law, I was introduced to Mr Paul Burns and after hearing about the details of my accident, he gave me the hope and the encouragement that he would take this case and fight to the end. This case endured 3 years, during which Mr Paul Burns would consistently keep in touch, always giving me that hope I needed to get through the case as well as constantly keeping me aware of any developments throughout. The service was exceptional throughout my entire experience with DPP Law. The solicitors were always helpful, reassuring and professional which gave me confidence in my case achieving the result I desired. All members of staff were uplifting, in particular the woman at reception who was consistently very polite and welcoming. Overall, I would highly recommend DPP Law to anyone.
