    Shocking experience. I consulted them about a Will under free Wills month. I wasn't happy with the draft or the vast amount of pages of client care and terms of business letter which was impossible to understand. I therefore sent everything back and said I did not wish to proceed to finality. They then raised a bill for over £200 which I didn't pay due to the fact it was prepared under the free Wills month scheme. I would have still been more than happy to pay the suggested amount of £100.00 to charity. They told me I couldn't do this and I should refer to client care letter which I no longer had. Again I said I didn't think I should be paying for something I hadn't received. Again I offered to proceed with the Will and pay the contribution to charity but they refused. They then proceeded to issue court proceedings against me now with extra charges making this now over £300. They were unapproachable and aggressive when speaking with their representatives. One of them even called me at nearly 7pm at night chasing the money. I think they probably didn't pass any of the money to charity. Not a very great example of a good Solicitors!!

    Hi Claire, We are sorry that your experience in making a Will with our firm did not meet your expectations. We note that you approached our firm to make a Will under the ‘Free Wills Month’ charity scheme which we, as a firm, have chosen to support for a number of years. The idea of the scheme is that a firm of Solicitors will arrange a simple Will for a client which the client does not have to pay the Solicitor for, the charity are grateful to those making the Will if they leave them a legacy, or a share of their estate, within their Will which is due to be paid to the charity when the person has passed away. There may be occasions however, where we are instructed to proceed to do the work associated with arranging a Will which the client then no longer wishes to proceed with. On those occasions, we reserve the right to make a charge for the work we have undertaken, this would only happen if the Will has not been progressed but which we, as a firm, have spent time dealing with. The process and our procedures relating to this are included in the initial paperwork, issued a few days after a client appointment. It certain cases, where an invoice has been raised but not paid, this can unfortunately lead to the case being progressed further and it is important, in those instances, that strict procedures are followed, both for our own record keeping and a client’s involvement in the same. We are more than happy to discuss this with you further should you wish to, if so please contact us and ask to speak with Clare Wyett who is the head of department for our Wills, Probate & Trusts team.       Excellent service from a professional team

      Had to downsize due to my wife's failing health, its been a challenge finding a bungalow last year to buy and move into. We needed to sell our original family home this year.       I have recently sold my property in Liverpool and Peter Caswell at Taylor Bracewell Solicitos acted on my behalf and he was outstanding. This was a very difficult sale due to the fact that the other party's solicitors was excessive in their demand and clearly ignorant but Peter was very patient during what ended up being a long drawn out process. Peter maintained professionalism at every step, he was proactive and knowledgeable and provided every information demanded. Most importantly, he answered all my questions promptly each time and really stewarded the sale very well. I never thought we would get there due to the mountain of documentation the other party demanded but thanks to Peter's experience and patience, we got there.
