Top 10 of 847 law firms for Delay Analysis, Construction

Law firms ranked by client reviews

Delay Analysis in construction covers assessing why a project did not progress as planned, identifying the factors causing delay, disruption and impact on programme, and advising on entitlement to extensions of time and additional compensation. A solicitor in this area reviews contract terms, schedules, and correspondence, collects and analyses evidence of delays, and prepares or negotiates applications for time extensions and extensions of liability. They may work with quantum assessors or experts to determine the effect of delays on sequence, cost, and completion dates. This matters to protect project timelines and commercial outcomes.

What a solicitor handles in these matters

Delays arise from site weather, contractor performance, late design information, site access, or unforeseen ground conditions. A solicitor handles contract interpretation, time extension notices, disruption claims, and the interaction between programme updates and compensation events, aligning evidence, procurement milestones, and contract terms to support or contest entitlement to extensions and loss and expense. The process often involves preparing or defending claims in adjudication or litigation, and coordinating with technical experts.

I engaged Crane and Staples to assist me in dealing with a rogue builder who was doing a large project at my home in 2022 and had invoiced me for works not performed. I had refused to pay his final invoice as the amounts were spurious after which the builder in question became quite unpleasant, referring the invoice to a debt collector, resulting in a court letter. Michael and his team were a pleasure to deal with, dealing very effectively with the debt collector and their legal team, offering pragmatic and practical advice which resulted in a satisfactory outcome for me and avoided the necessity of going to court. I would not hesitate to use Crane & Staples again.

I have been advised by several solicitors at Meadows Ryan for a number of years and found their service to be extremely thorough and professional. Communication has been prompt and I found all solicitors very approachable and a pleasure to deal with. The advice I have received has been consistently reliable. I would certainly recommend Meadows Ryan.
