The Stewardship Code covers how asset owners, asset managers and other investors exercise stewardship over investee companies, focusing on engagement, voting and transparency to support long-term sustainable performance. A solicitor practising in this area assists signatories with understanding the Code’s principles, developing stewardship policies, drafting engagement plans, reviewing AGM materials, advising on voting strategies, and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements to clients and regulators. Practice may be shaped by market norms and statutory or regulatory expectations for listed and not‑listed holdings.
