Rachel was professional, courteous and conducted our business to a satisfactory conclusion, with no complaints. However dealing with Paris Smith's trainee solicitor during this transaction, I found their manner inappropriate, rather curt and with a tendency to use language inappropriate for clients (e.g. 'fee earner', didn't advise me of the total fee required). I would be reluctant to use this firm again.

I had an initial call with this firm and then told them I did not want to instruct them and did not want them to undertake any further work. They then continued to send me invoices for hours of work that had never been done. When I let them know nothing had been done and I have had no further calls with the solicitor and showed them the emails where I told them I would not instructed them and no further work should be done they ignored this. I never got the letters from the court but just received a letter saying a judgement of around £1,500 had been made for an initial hour consultancy call. I will obviously get this order set aside this company is a complete scam and in the initial hour they did nothing but ask me for details that I could have completed online or put on a form, such as how many kids I have how old they are and bla bla bla. I hired another law firm that has been amazing. This company is dishonest and provide no value for money they will just try to bill you as much as they can get away with. Stay clear.

When a distant relative died, unexpectedly I found myself as executor of her will. It was being administered by the solicitors who had been holding the Will. Annoyingly, the Will had been badly written and contained mistakes and ambiguities. It became obvious to me that those dealing with it were incapable of resolving the situation and were wrongly pursuing pointless and expensive lines of investigation. I mentioned this to a friend who told me that while dealing with Paris Smith he had learnt that they had a man who specialises in bad wills. I approached Paris Smith and Jason Oliver said that he could help me. Jason considered all the facts and immediately stopped the administering solicitors from proceeding further. With his expertise he was able to resolve the complex issues while keeping me fully informed at all times. He guided me through Zoom meetings, dealings with barristers and High Court procedures. Best of all, the estate was finally divided as originally intended. I was very impressed with the professionalism of Jason Oliver and would recommend him to anyone requiring legal advice and guidance.
