    Poor & inaccurate communication, slow progress

    So far it’s been a very negative experience with Lyons Bowe. From initial issues recognising our deposit, to false information about the status of our checks (multiple times), timelines have not been stuck to at all. All other parties (mortgage, survey, sellers solicitors, estate agents, us as the buyers) have progressed quickly and everything continues to be held up by Lyons Bowe - being passed between hands and lack of accountability has also been very frustrating

    Completion Solicitor was fantastic

    Slow, admin errors, website account error

    I was looking for an efficient local solicitor who I could trust to execute my Will and take the stress from my widow when the time comes. I paid by bank transfer early to show my intentions and speed the process. Days later a trainee solicitor finally called and we arranged for me to visit Frome office to sign the very simple Will. At the office I asked for a copy of my signed original - the office staff said the solicitor will send a copy later in day or next day. A week later - no copy had been sent then automated emails came through asking me to login and pay!

    Too many different people dealing with the case and that meant that we didn't get responses and things fell through the gaps. For example the sale price was wrong on the contract weeks after this picked up and should have been corrected

      AI isn't always correct

      After previously using two local solicitors for legal duties we tried an AI prediction which unfortunately turned out, in our opinion, a little worse. There was little or no personal service, we entered a pool of legal individuals. Emails are generally cut/paste with references to groups like Estate Agents even though we didn't have an agent. Prices initially quoted don't match completion statements and when questioned, charges appeared in small prints of documents, this makes it incredibly difficult to compare legal quotes and therefore the costs were higher than local solicitor quotes. The most frustrating was the lack of urgency, an incredibly simple sale took far too long. In addition they may advertise local offices to your location but they cannot be used for original documents etc therefore special delivery postal charges are required for Shepton Mallet. The Company App wasn't used to accurately reflect the status of the property transaction.
