I had inheritance tax forms to fill in for Probate, in turn because of premium bonds, no tax to pay, just lots of complicated forms. Charlotte was wonderful, so informed and helpful at a time I felt so low with the death and confused by the IHT process. She helped and got me through the whole probate process. Amazing and her team are great. Currently helping with the will and trust and selling the house too. I would highly recommend as have expertise in every topic, and some overlap.

I felt being in good hands with Sarah from the first phone call. Especially appreciated was her communication, both verbal and in mails. Always on time and informative. I struggled a little with finding the right lawyers for my case and was glad to end up with her. I realised the need for legal help after my wife died. She lived most of her life abroad with me and therefore I was not fully aware of all the details in UK proceedings. Cost estimate concurred with final bill. Thank you for a job well done.

I would like to pass my thanks and gratitude onto Amy Wilford of Thomson Snell and Passmore. I became the Executor of my sister’s estate when she unexpectedly passed away two years ago. The administration was quite complicated on many fronts. However the dispute regarding the title of my sister’s property was handled in an extremely professional and competent manner by Amy. She responded quickly to any query raised and I found her very approachable. Her reassurance and experience was so appreciated at a difficult time. No detail was missed and I was very impressed with the seamless conclusion to the title dispute and subsequent sale of the property. I will always be grateful to Amy for her work and help in resolving this matter, which at times seemed so problematical. I would highly recommend Amy to anybody with a similar problem regarding a dispute over a will or estate administration.

There are times when Legal Advice is unavoidable and expert guidance is needed. If that is the case a good firm is essential and I found an excellent one in Thomson Snell & Passmore being supported by Nasima Ansary in their Will, Trust & Estate Disputes team. The issues I faced were complex, involving elements of Power of Attorney, Property, Wills and Probate. Nasima took the time to really understand the different aspects involved and helped to provide me with options and a way forward. I was lucky to have an expert litigator who was able to provide a range of options from alternative dispute resolution to in-depth guidance on progressing matters to court if thought absolutely necessary. At all times, I was grateful to Nasima, who was keen to encourage me to weigh the risks and costs against likely returns that ensured best return on effort, time and the stress that can accompany these processes. In interactions with the other parties involved Ms Ansary’s were of the highest professional standard despite the frequent tardiness from the ‘other side’. With these matters now brought to a successful conclusion, it was been important to have someone in whom I had complete faith that all options were considered and dealings were handled expertly. I'm not able to recommend this firm based on my experience. They acted for the executors of an estate; I was one of three executors. I wasn't aware that I'd been named as an executor and it took over three months for the firm to inform me, although my name and address were in the Will. That sluggish start continued, with the whole process taking over two years and three months. The Will was complicated by the number of beneficiaries, but all were contactable and responsive. The Will had been drawn up by this firm. The quality of work was fine, but just took too long. That was latterly due in part to the even slower pace of HMRC, but the firm shared responsibility. The fees amounted to almost 10% of the net value of the estate.
I feel reassured that my affairs have been sorted out and now have a will and LPA's I am happy with.

I was recommended to have Suzanne as my solicitor for buying my first home, and was told she would leave no stone unturned. This was exactly the case, as she was rigorous in every detail to make sure all was in order and everything was meticulous. She is highly efficient and incredibly responsive, I was never left in the dark about anything she was working on. She also has an amazing ability to be reassuring through the stressful process of buying a home and moving ! There’s nothing negative I can say here, as everything was exceptional, and Suzanne pointed out things that an ordinary solicitor would not have done. I worked with Kirstie Law at this firm. I was disappointed by the lack of impartiality I experienced during mediation. Rather than feeling that both parties’ positions were being neutrally facilitated, and mediated, I felt judged and that aspects of the other party’s behaviour were minimised or normalised. Some comments went beyond what I consider to be a mediator's role and left me in a "them against me" set up during the mediation, which was unsupported, and painful, in the midst of recovering from a prolonged betrayal. Based on my experience, I would not use this mediator again.

Really good solicitor, we have worked with Penny and Louise, both have been incredibly good with communication, worked very hard to help us with our move and have made the move feel much less stressful as they've kept us updated. The solicitor used by the seller wasn't very good, so we are extra grateful that we chose to use Thomson Snell & Passmore.
