I'd like to thank Rachael Hughes and her secretary, Angela Chalmers, for the way they handled the recent sales of my two properties. I was very impressed with their professionalism. Sometimes the path was not as smooth as it could have been, for reasons out of their control, but, nonetheless, everything was conducted and concluded in a very professional manner, and I hope to use their services again in the near future.

We used Lily Beal at Leathes Prior for our recent property purchase, and can't recommend her highly enough. The transaction was complicated by a grant of probate on the seller's side, along with a difficult seller's accountant and solicitors, which made for a genuinely challenging process. Throughout it all, Lily's guidance was professional and properly tailored to our situation rather than generic advice. She kept us clearly informed at every stage, explained the probate and legal complications as they arose, and gave us real confidence that things were being handled professionally. Highly recommend Lily and the team at Leathes Prior to anyone buying or selling in Norwich, especially if your transaction is anything less than straightforward.

Leanne made the whole house-buying process feel quick, straightforward and as stress-free as possible. She truly went above and beyond throughout the process and was always on hand whenever we needed her. Communication was excellent from start to finish. No question was ever left unanswered, and I always felt confident that I could rely on Leanne to chase the onward chain, keep things moving and provide us with updates, no matter how big or small. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Leathes Prior. Madison and Kate did an excellent job representing me during a recent property transaction, despite the transaction not being quite as straight forward as I’d initially hoped! Madison and Kate were both friendly and professional at all times, responding promptly to any queries. Rachael and Angela have been absolutely fantastic throughout what has been a very stressful process for us as first-time buyers. We initially had an offer accepted on a property, but unfortunately the sellers consistently failed to provide the information needed to progress the purchase. After seven months, Rachael was incredibly honest and advised that, it was in our best interests to pull out. Although this was a difficult decision, we really appreciated her honesty and guidance. When we found a new property, Rachael and Angela worked incredibly hard to get everything progressed and completed within just seven weeks. This was especially important to us with the arrival of our baby approaching, and they did everything they could to relieve the pressure and make the process as smooth as possible. We genuinely cannot thank them both enough for their clear communication. Buying our first home has been stressful at times, but having Rachael and Angela guiding us through it made such a difference. We would recommend them to anyone looking for a solicitor.

Truly world-class service from Rachael Hughes' team in conveyancing from start to finish. I was recommended the firm for an auction sale. I said proceed, and within minutes they sent me an app. I filled out the questionnaires and uploaded the proof of ID and other documents that night. Within 2-3 working days, they produced a legal pack (in brief, that is 60% of an entire conveyance that normally takes weeks). Rachael responds to queries by email rapidly, and it is a breath of fresh air having a solicitor who is so responsive. The other team members, Angela Chalmers and Tom Woods, have been great as well—so efficient.I genuinely got passed to a gem of a team. If you are looking to instruct Leathes Prior, they are a great firm. Do ask for Rachael Hughes; if you do, you will not want to use another conveyancing solicitor ever again."

Leathes Prior acted for us on the sale of our company and were fantastic throughout. Alex Saunders and his team made a stressful process so much easier, with clear communication and invaluable advice. Thank you.
Extremely disappointing experience. We instructed Leathes Prior in connection with a significant commercial lease and nursery development. We subsequently found ourselves exposed to substantial costs associated with the condition of the property. To be clear, my criticism is not that a solicitor should have discovered structural defects. My concern is that we entered into a full repairing lease without a Schedule of Condition and I do not believe the potentially significant financial consequences of taking on responsibility for pre-existing disrepair were explained to us clearly enough before we committed. I raised these concerns formally with the firm and received their final complaint response rejecting the complaint. Having reviewed that response and the underlying correspondence, I remain deeply dissatisfied. For a transaction involving a substantial investment and a long-term lease, I expected advice that clearly translated the legal wording into the commercial and financial risks we were actually assuming. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I could not recommend Leathes Prior for this type of transaction.
Emily and Trish were fantastic when acting on behalf of one of of my sellers. It is always a pleasure to work alongside responsive and sensible solicitors. Leathers Prior helped to get this transaction to a successful conclusion despite the inefficiency of the buyers solicitor. Thank you and I will be recommending.
