Like many householders in Sheffield our house was leasehold. The ground rent was derisory, only £2 per annum, but we decided that it would make future sales simpler if we bought the freehold. The freeholds were in a group of 12 and the freeholders were happy to sell them all at once. Andrew gave us a reduced price, since he was processing all 12 properties. We managed to recruit all our neighbours into the project, at least partly because of the advantageous price Andrew gave us. Andrew was always easy to contact and answered emails promptly. The Elliot Mather office in Chesterfield has convenient parking, adjacent to the famous crooked spire. I would strongly recommend Andrew and his firm for any future legal business. Our purchase was complicated when our original solicitors went into administration 5 months into us selling our house and buying our new home. We researched firms with offices within our area and saw Elliot Mather and recognised the name immediately. I have to say the they did not disappoint. Shelly and Sally were absolutely amazing and from start to finish, we were kept updated at each stage. We could phone the office, leave a message and receive a call back to discuss anything relating to the process. Having had our initial solicitors shut down overnight was very distressing but Elliot Mather were quite simply outstanding and went above and beyond to ensure our sake, and our purchase went through without issue. I would definitely recommend them for their service, professionalism and caring manner.
