Care funding rules and regulations in England cover how local authorities decide who pays for care and how that funding is accessed. A solicitor working in this area handles complex applications for means-tested support under the Care Act 2014, assists with assessments of needs, and challenges or negotiates with local authorities over funding contributions for care at home, in supported living, or in residential care. They also help prepare and review care packages, advocate during reviews, and deal with appeals or disputes arising from funding decisions.
The solicitor drafts and negotiates care funding assessments, prepares required evidence of need, coordinates with local authorities and care providers, appeals incorrect or unfair allocations, and supports funding reviews and changes to care packages under the Care Act 2014 and associated guidance. They may also address funding for specific services, charging disputes, and continuity of care during transitions.

It was nice to have someone finally listen to our concern. It was lovely that they knew exactly what we were talking about.
