Terrible service. Starting from lying in a quote by not disclosing all charges, throughout the whole process there was no contact and no responses to emails. During the case that took 9 MONTHS, two of solicitors drop the case and was either sacked or left the company. That would be ok if someone else would take over, but no, no one told us about it for 3 weeks, no replacement was provided. The contact was just cut completely for 3 weeks...Filling a formal complaint did not make a change as they sided with their solicitors, obviously. Today, a whole month after closing the case I am still waiting to receive money that they own me and my partner... avoid at all costs. The process that could easily take up to 6 month, dragged for 6 months with only reason being incompetent and unprofessional behaviour.
I have taken some time to complete this feedback as the overall experience has been disappointing. At the outset, I was advised that, as a cash buyer with no chain, the process would take approximately two to three months. In reality, it took seven and a half months. While I appreciate that this may not be unusual, it became particularly frustrating when deadlines were repeatedly missed without any proactive updates. I only received information when I contacted the office myself. Throughout the process, I dealt with numerous different staff members, which meant repeatedly explaining previous conversations. Several team members were not based in the office, and this did not inspire confidence—especially when promised call‑backs did not happen. On more than one occasion, I was informed that the person I had been dealing with “no longer worked for the company,” which was unsettling. As a first‑time buyer, I did not feel supported or guided through what was already a stressful process. On a positive note, I would like to express my thanks to Marika Stucley‑Lewis, who ultimately helped bring the matter to completion at 16:45 on Friday, 1st May. Although we only spoke a few times, she—and Lisa Royle—made me feel that my concerns were finally being heard.

Gilson Grey managed both the sale of our old property and the purchase of our new property it was great having both under the same roof.They kept us informed about everthing both through the online portal and personal telephone calls, they were always avaiable to answer any questions wether trivial or not. Excellent service and I will be using Gilson Gray again. This company came recommended by a work colleague. They had a good experience and had used them on 2 previous occasions and had a good experience. It was the first time I had sold my home and Gilson Gray made it very easy.
