Throughout the extremely difficult months while my case progressed through the courts, I received excellent professional advice, in particular with a candid and honest assessment of the likely outcome. The advocacy and defense given by Jim Smith at my sentencing was exemplary and contributed significantly, in my opinion, to my receiving a much more lenient sentence than I was expecting. In fact I firmly believe that the presentation of mitigation contributed a great deal to persuading the Judge to offer clemency to me, and give me another chance.

Bell Lamb and Joynson were initially Duty solicitor at the court after our son was arrested for breach of police bail and subsequently represented our son at his court hearing. Marcela was excellent, giving clear advice and was very approachable. We would definitely recommend.

I would like to say a huge thank you to Darren Jones for all of his help and support this last year. Not only is Darren reliable, punctual and incredibly trustworthy, he really puts us at ease in situations that can be very stressful & challenging. Darren has represented my son on numerous occasions now. Then this evening, after a very long and stressful day, my son said to me “as soon as I saw Darren I felt safe” —as a mother, that meant the world to me. My son has never said that about anyone before. Darren is a strong voice for his clients, and always makes sure we are treated fairly in all situations. Due to my son having ASD & ADHD, I often find myself having to translate things for him when it comes to professionals. But I’ve never had to do that with Darren. From the first time he met my son, he engaged really well with him, and spoke to him on a level he understood. I would recommend Darren to anyone who feels they need a rock by their side during a difficult time (he has the most amazing suits & style too!!!) .He is brilliant, and we are so grateful for everything you’ve done for us Darren. -From L&H

From start to finish the firm have been amazing. I needed help and time was running out leading up to being in court. I contacted the firm and explained what help I needed and I would be wanting legal aid. This would made really easy to apply for and even when I was having troubles the firm kept me reassured and guided me through each step. As soon as I was granted legal aid i was given clear and easy to understand instructions on what would happen next. My first time in court I was met by Alex who talked me through everything and helped me understand more about my offence and what may happen when entered the court room. He made me feel really at ease on the day. My next date for court I had to get adjourned as my nan passed away and I wanted to attend the funeral. The firm wrote to the court on my behalf and was able to get my date adjourned. Through the whole process julie was always responding if I had any questions and was always help when I was a little unsure of anything or if I needed any questions I was pointed in th right direction. When I was in the Runcorn custody suite and first saw duty solicitor David I immediately felt like someone was on my side. Pre interview, he was amazing and extinguished my anxiety about the whole process. He was clear, concise and professional. Thankfully I was released on bail soon after the interview and a no further action to the offences was given a week later by the police. I recommend this firm and of course David who is semi retired but you cannot put a price on experience. Thank you!

Chris was really nice and super prompt with his replies which I know that people have a hard time coming by with solicitors, so this was great. 10/10 for that. However, I think it would help to inform the customers about any potential additional costs more clearly over the phone and any action that they need to take themselves (ie. Filling out release forms for LISA). First time buyers have no experience of the process and it would help to have more concise info re: the whole process. Apart from those little things, I had a really good experience with a Chris and thank him for his help with everything.
