    A Consummate Professional

    35 yrs of buying and selling houses, this one was the worst. Our transaction was un necessarily complex due to the sellers attitude. Sarah and her team (a nod to Amy) were relentless in pursuing our demands and would not waiver on any point. Sarah had my back at all times and was kind polite and above all professional. It goes without saying I will follow Sarah at Elliott Mather again.

    For the high fees that they charge, their service is extremely poor to none. The firms lacks professionalism. An example is that they kept me waiting 2 months to progress my case and then blanked me.

    We have just sold our house, the buyer used Elliot Mather Solicitors. We had a different excuse for not fulfilling their duties every day. The buyer blamed the solicitor and the solicitor blamed the buyer. My solicitor was ready to complete long before we eventually completed. My solicitor said she could not comment because she had to remain professional, but reading between the lines things could have been done differently.

      Carmen dealt with our property purchase and was excellent at keeping us informed every step of the way. She was proactive and not reactive, which I think is rare to find with a Solicitor. She told us clearly what she needed from us at every point during the purchase so there was never a moment I felt confused.       Freehold purchase

      Like many householders in Sheffield our house was leasehold. The ground rent was derisory, only £2 per annum, but we decided that it would make future sales simpler if we bought the freehold. The freeholds were in a group of 12 and the freeholders were happy to sell them all at once. Andrew gave us a reduced price, since he was processing all 12 properties. We managed to recruit all our neighbours into the project, at least partly because of the advantageous price Andrew gave us. Andrew was always easy to contact and answered emails promptly. The Elliot Mather office in Chesterfield has convenient parking, adjacent to the famous crooked spire. I would strongly recommend Andrew and his firm for any future legal business. Thank you for your care and skill.

      Our purchase was complicated when our original solicitors went into administration 5 months into us selling our house and buying our new home. We researched firms with offices within our area and saw Elliot Mather and recognised the name immediately. I have to say the they did not disappoint. Shelly and Sally were absolutely amazing and from start to finish, we were kept updated at each stage. We could phone the office, leave a message and receive a call back to discuss anything relating to the process. Having had our initial solicitors shut down overnight was very distressing but Elliot Mather were quite simply outstanding and went above and beyond to ensure our sake, and our purchase went through without issue.
