JCP supported myself following the death of my husband. Ian Rees dealt with the civil claim, it took a longer than expected with no fault on JCPs end. They were respectful, helpful, answered all my questions. They gave me advice and didn’t pressure me to settle, they offered to continue to fight longer if I required it. I felt supported and throughout, I’m grateful it’s finally over. I will continue to use JCP, I have just started my will process. I have also recommend them to friends and family.

Life and Wills are very complex in todays world. Trying to get things right in a Will has to take account of many things such as who to provide for and how to ensure that your legacy is not swept away due to care needs.. In my case it also needed to take account of providing for one sibling the right to continue living in the family home. Cherrie Powell helped me achieve this. Unfortunately I will not be around to see the results. I only hope that my family appreciate the effort and love that went into producing the final result

Our experience with JCP solicitors, Nick O’Neill & Alison Deere has been very pleasant, on occasions it felt like a long process but this was more to do with awaiting a response from another party.

Average service so far Quite slow at responding, with some responses taking over a week and prompting to respond, and a lot of questions just slip through the cracks with no response. Typical of a lot of conveyancers recently it seems. Too high a case load I guess

Choose another law firm, based upon my recent bad experience. Poor communication and don't represent your interests. I wasted £17,000 with this firm.

Excellent solicitor.
Legal aspect of my interactions were fine, solicitors take ages because there's always another solicitor on the other end who is slow. Other aspects however.. They will request you to drive to their office in Caerphilly, because there are no client rooms in Cardiff (not as if these were salubrious though, I could have just signed a piece of paper in the foyer in Cardiff for the same level of comfort) not only is this out of the way, they will charge you for the privilege. Perhaps pen ink is expensive? I didn't get to keep the biro either. When you are finished and pay your final bill, you should expect to receive threats of interest for overdue payments they have added onto your account 5-6 months after the fact.

I cannot speak too highly of the Family Law team and other staff that I dealt with. Always helpful, always professional, always approachable and never failed to calm my nerves or explain issues to me in the simplest terms. Edwina and Angharad have carried out the conveyancing several times now, for both purchasing and selling property. It is a breath of fresh air to deal with them compared to experiences we've had in the past with other solicitors. They are both friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I would love to be able to say my experience with JCP was a great one but so far not so good. We made a big effort to go to the branch in Carmarthen yesterday and saw a lovely receptionist who said that somebody would call us back so that we could have a meeting with a solicitor. We’ve heard nothing back from them and when I phoned today, I got a call Centre in Swansea who were extremely vague and said they would put me through to some customer care unit not what I wanted. Hey we’ll keep looking for a solicitor.
