For over a year now we have been dealing with Claire and Tom who have been absolutely amazing with such a sensitive issue and they have been with us all the way like they were family, I don't think we have come across such professional and caring solicitors as we have with Willans and Claire and Tom Gordon and we would just like to thank you both and Willans who you stand for for all your help in resolving this matter in a positive ending to what could of been a very distraught and distressing time, ty and bless you both.

We received excellent work a year or so ago from Willans residential property team, after finding our old, newly merged, solicitors sadly unresponsive. So, recently, we also decided to request Willans Wills, Trusts and Probate team to review our pre-existing Wills and LPAs with a view to them providing a reassuring check and safekeeping thereof for the family. We received the expected prompt, attentive and professional service from their team, and were made sufficiently confident to accept, after due consideration, their suggested recommendation to modify our Wills to provide limited but potentially valuable protection over part of our assets. The process went smoothly, including full and clear explanations given by their team, and answering our queries along the way. We have recently and happily signed off the updated Wills and supporting documents at their Offices and they now hold our original documents in safekeeping for the family. Fees were detailed for us and, overall, we consider them very fair for the quality of the work carried out.

Claire helped me with a very tricky probate claim and went above and beyond to help me. She kept costs to a minimum and kept me informed when it was needed. When Claire moved firms she took my case with her even though it was a very difficult claim and saw it through to a successful end. I will always be grateful to her not only for the positive outcome but also for her warmth and empathy throughout the whole process. I wholeheartedly recommend her without hesitation.

PLEASE READ! I've had two involved experiences with Willans Solicitors. Once in 2021 and again in 2026. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend avoiding. When in time of need, this company is the epitome of the financial leech you need to avoid. EVERY email £23 (+VAT)... even when they just say "thanks for your email"! £4k for just 4 weeks being a intermediary with a barrister that actually knows what they're talking about. They even added on additional expenses for talking between themselves, despite my instructions being uber clear that I only wanted instructions from a barrister! Paul Gordon and his team, specifically Kafula (totally useless), should be avoided at all costs. I hope this helps others when in time of need. These guys certainly won't!

As explained to you during the course of your matter, and as set out clearly in our client care letter, our work was undertaken on a time‑spent basis and was limited to facilitating communication with counsel and providing advice upon request. Throughout the matter, efforts were made to keep you informed of costs where possible, including advising you of work in progress before any invoice was issued. When you indicated that you wished to terminate the matter and would not pay a further invoice, we made the decision to write off the unbilled time as a gesture of goodwill and to close the file. We strongly refute any suggestion that our team acted improperly or without regard to your instructions. We also do not accept comments directed personally at individual members of staff, who acted professionally and in accordance with their obligations at all times. We regret that this matter concluded in this way and that your expectations were not aligned with the agreed scope of our role. While we respect your right to share your views, we stand by the service provided in this case.
Sian Devereux-Renny handled a family probate case , which was complex and protracted. Sian displayed exceptional tact and empathy , whilst being professional and always communicative. I would recommend her without hesitation.

We used Willans LLP for the purchase of our new home. The process was completed, but I only found out the property registration was done after I emailed a year later to ask. It would have been helpful to be informed earlier and receive a copy right away. We later tried to use their services again and were offered a free consultation with a trainee. Unfortunately, the trainee sounded unprepared and quite stressed, speaking in an unprofessional way that made the discussion uncomfortable. The advice wasn’t helpful, and my follow-up email was never answered. Disappointing second experience.

We have just concluded on both the sale of one property and the purchase of our new home. We wanted to leave some positive client feedback concerning one of your fee earners, Mary Young ; and also for the team behind her, within the Willans Residential Property Department. Buying and selling one’s home can be quite a stressful life event. Mary was reassuringly efficient in her control over both conveyances. We were really impressed with her pro-active file management, ensuring both matters progressed at the appropriate pace. She responded to all questions promptly and made sure all administrative tasks were completed in good time. She managed both of our buyers’ and sellers’ solicitors, the estate agents and of course, her client, with aplomb. Her conveyancing reports were precise, reasonable and measured, taking care to clearly explain all legal aspects to us. Her cost estimates were accurate, transparent and reasonable, such that there were no surprises for us at the end of the process. After exchange, Willans provided a dedicated completions service. This was managed smoothly by Emily James, such that all stages of this process were accurately communicated by Willans to all parties. Thank you Emily. Whilst it is of course lovely to settle into our new home, it is also important to formally say thank you, both to Willans LLP Solicitors and thanks, in particular, to Mary Young. She really is a credit to your Residential Property Team. We write this review so that Willans LLP might find this positive bit of client feedback useful, perhaps to use for her annual appraisal. We recently completed on our property purchase and cannot recommend Willans enough, particularly Mary Young and her team. She was incredibly professional, easy to contact (never had to chase), explained things clearly and the transaction could not have been smoother. The quote provided was clear and comprehensive. They are perhaps not the cheapest around however, the service is worth every penny. I have learnt my lesson having used online, faceless conveyancers in the past who may have been cheaper but have caused several headaches. We would not hesitate to recommend Willans to friends and family and will use them in the future if required. Thank you.

My father has worked with Simon and Abi from The Wills, Trusts & Probate Department for a number of years and he would fully recommend their service. Where he is an executor of a will, they have obtained probate for him efficiently, promptly and for a fair fee which is quoted at commencement.
