Extremely disappointing experience with Red Kite. I contacted them to assist with a Court of Protection deputyship application on behalf of my mother. For a couple of months all went as it should, then my direct contact went quiet. I became aware that my relatives, who should have been contacted by Red Kite, had not heard anything from them. When I emailed for an update it was ignored until I emailed the enquiries address or called the switchboard, then I was told they were waiting for something from the Court that three months previously I'd been told had already been received. When someone senior finally got involved it was clear they had no intention of attempting to find out or explain what had gone wrong. I wonder why. After pointing out that no-one making an application to the Court of Protection is likely to do so on a whim, and that urgency is pretty important, I agreed to close the file having achieved nothing and wasted six months or so. Red Kite insisted I pay a fee they had incurred on my behalf, although they had achieved nothing for me (and caused considerable stress into the bargain). It was a relatively small amount of money and the fact that they felt it appropriate to insist on payment despite the circumstances told me everything I wish I'd known about them as a company before instructing them. Other people may have had excellent experiences with them, but this was mine.
