Having been dismissed by my employer for gross misconduct (over an incident with crucial context), I was referred by the school to the TRA - the government agency which decides if teachers should or should not be barred from the profession. I was distraught at this outcome. After working with my trade union representative for several weeks - first during the school's internal investigation of me, then with forming a reply to the TRA - I felt I needed much more support, especially with the ongoing personal stress at the time (loss of earnings, potential derailing of career, etc). After researching and speaking to several lawyers from different firms, I was most impressed by Victoria at Richard Nelson LLP. She gave me her time and understanding in a way other advisers did not - not just in the duration of our initial call, but in the listening and immediate understanding that my case had complexities. I then thanked my trade union representative for their support, and instructed Victoria immediately. I was guided through every step of the process of building the strongest written case to the TRA, which was explained to me with great clarity. My input and 'tasks' was made clear so that Victoria could then collate the elements into a coherent piece. She also took great care to make sure the deep context of my case was clearly established and evidenced as inextricably linked to the case. Because of this, I felt fully supported and listened to at every step. The TRA found in my favour, and I do not believe this would have been possible without Victoria's representation. Her professionalism also gave me peace of mind throughout that I was in the best hands; I actually began to feel positive and less overwhelmed. I would recommend Victoria Rees in the strongest terms. She is granular with her attention to fine detail and exceptionally thorough in her approach.

I did not expect to be in a position to need the advice I required but was so relieved to find Steve Roberts - an extremely competent, calm and personable solicitor who put me at my ease within minutes of speaking to him. Victoria Rees was great in her diligence in helping me to provide what was needed for the process when all my instincts kept moving towards much too personal reflections. She bore with me when I would think of something which I thought was important and immediately include it in an email. This made her life more difficult in processing all the information I was giving her. She pushed me to be more remorseful in my reflections when I would hold back because of shame. Thank you Victoria for the time and energy you took in knocking me into shape.

I got intouch with Richard Nelson's after needing help with a contract regarding mutually agreed redundancy, but due to the contract not containing the correct information by the time I got the correct version I only had two days left before it had to be signed and returned. I rang and was assured that someone would be able to help me, I was give an appointment for the next day and met Jayne Harrison, she was brilliant! She read through the contents with me pointing out several mistakes, she got straight in touch with my employer and got them amended . I have one last part to complete in January. I am so glad that I chose Richard Nelson's as after much stress they dealt with my situation extremely quickly and efficiently. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing any legal advice.
